| silky tail, fur body coat? This is for my maltese. She is 6 months old, and still has a fur coat. But her tail is silky. Does that somehow mean that she will soon be a silky? When do puppies start getting silky hair? Also, I have a male yorkie who is also 6 months. When should I start seperating them so that they don't mate? before I get him neutered |

| I would neuter the male now, that way you eliminate the issue. As far as Maltese coats, I would be over at maltesetalk.com and asking the experts. I've had three Maltese, and none of them ever developed a silk coat so I don't have a good answer for you.

| I had no idea! I thought they don't start mating till when they reach one year. Sorry to ask a weird question, but my yorkie is very small at 2.5 lbs. I'm not sure if it's bc he is so small, but he didn't drop his testicles yet. Doesn't that mean he can't impregnate my maltese? |
