| WHy are people thick headed? I cant say that my experince at the san clemente dog park was BAD...because toby did have lots of fun, but i will say this I am very dissatisfied with the way owners use the park, We went to the small dog park and it was lovely (there is a Big dog park next door) it had grass and a drinking fountain and lots of little baggies to pick up poo redily available all around the perimeter of the area... There were two chiuahuas and five or six miniature schnouzers, there was an older shetland sheep dog (11 yrs, not THAT frisky,.... he was ok), there was an EXTREMELY shy choc. lab (she was ok to be here too)...... but....... then there was this "pure bred beagel" (this is what the owner claimed but i can tell you right now the sucker was BIG weighed probably 60 or 70 lbs and was AGGRESSIVE).. deffiantly not the kind of dog that is classified to be in the small dog park.... it made me soooooooooo mad, this 'beagel' WOULD NOT leave toby alone, he was being trampled and mawled by this maniac dog!!!, i told the lady that her dog was an aggresive dog, and she took the hint and left shortly after, toby is now traumitized!!!! it took him a good 40 minuits to work up the courage to be social with teh other dogs after his big scare with this aggresive dog.. people need to take responsibility I guess this lady has been a problem before this too...... and on top of that fiasco, there is this woman TELLING ME HOW TO TAKE CARE OF MY DOG!!!! "you should take his harness off, you should do this, you should do that..." i appreciate her concern, but there was a reason he had his harness still on, TO MAKE A QUICK EXIT YOU DUMBA$$ LADY!!! Why are people so thick headed? |

| I'm sorry you had a bad day at the park, I myself had my share of bad days at the doggie park, so we no longer go there, It is a shame that because other people are so stupid or just don't care. It ruins it for those of us who do care how our pets act , I also hated when people try to tell me what to do with my babies. I hope your Toby gets over it and that next time you go to the park both of you have a better time |

| It seems like not all but many people allow their large dogs to wander, jump on other people, etc. I wouldn't be able to go to a park like that because my daughter is afraid of large dogs and it would be my luck that something like that would happen. It seems that people with small dogs (especially on this forum)take more time with their dogs to try to control their behavior. I am obviously not a big dog person. Its just I have been jumped on, slobbered on etc. at local pet co. while shopping.

| Sorry you're experience with the dog park was so bad! I must say it's nice you at least HAVE a dog park that is for small dogs. The one here in town is just for big dogs, but it's just one gaint area. I don't like ot let Bouncer run and play freely with unknown large dogs. I'm OK when he's with Gracie LuLu, Hudson, and Hogan (his pit bull, great dane/lab mix, and golden retreiver buddies), but to just let him run with large dogs that i don't know. NO WAY! People do need to take control of their animals. I have a mutt who I KNOW is aggressive with other dogs, therefor I don't take him into places or situations where it will be a problem. WHY DON'T MORE PEOPLE DO THAT?! Anyways, I understand your issues here. People just need to take control of their own dogs and stop telling others how to control theirs.

| That sounds awfull. I would have been so scared with that big dog around my little one. How can people be so rude. And as far as people making comments that is very rude . I know what you are talking about because people even make comments on how I should do something differently for my 11 month old daughter. I know what is best for her I am her mother. I do things for a reason and it is always in best intrest for my children. I wish people would mind their own buisness! |

| People should mind their own manners if they don't have anything positive to say! Also, I was wondering if there are limits anywhere to the maximum size of entry for small dog/shy dog parks. I think maybe 20 to 25 pounds max? I didn't see any signs either at my local one in Seattle regarding a maximum size. |
