| Can I have pics of neatly trimmed butts and feet? I wanna try trimming Gatsby myself but I have no idea what he should look like I'm letting his coat grow out so for now I just need to know how to trim butts and feet. If you could post your pictures of neatly trimmed butts and feet that would be great thanks everyone.

| My boys are shy and won't let me post pictures. For the bottom, carefully trim a circle around the anus. I use small, blunt nose scissors for this. For the paws, I try to do a "show foot," but I'm not very good at it. I comb the hair straight down the leg and paw, and trim a circle that follows the outline of the paw. I keep combing and scissoring until it looks reasonably good. The hair goes all the way to the floor and covers the paw and nails, but it is not long enough to go under the paw when the dogs are walking.

| Id like to see pics too, esp of the bottom of the feet. I never know how much I need to go in between their footpads. |

| I would just clip down as far as your dog will let you that's what I do with the cats.

| On the bottom of the paws, I trim enough so that hair doesn't obstruct the pads. My boys don't have thick hair in their pads, so that is enough. If your pup has thick hair that collects dirt and debris, or the hair mats in the paw, then you will have to work harder. The primary thing is to keep the paw clean and keep the hair from covering the pads or obstructing the nails.

| Sorry they're not great ones but these are pictures of Sophie's feet about a week after her last groomer appt. Her foot hair comes just to her nails and she is trimmed around her pads. Edit to say.the 1st shot must have been about 2 weeks after her appt.

| I use a little Wahl trimmer in the pads of Tatum's feet. We have wood floors so when the hair in her pads gets long she slides a lot more on the floors. She just lays on her back and I buzz between all the pads on each foot. And then looking from the bottom of the foot, I trim (with the Wahl - but you could use little scissors) any hair that extends past her nails. Don't know what I would do though if she didn't want to lay like that for me.
