| Overreacting I'm sure but he's my baby..... Tomorrow Jax is being neutered and I am a basket case! Please tell me I am not the only crazy dog mommy out there I am beside myself with worry....number one because he is my baby...number two because he had a weird/seizure episode a few months back and we never really found the cause and it has not happened again. Blood work and liver enzymes and bile tests were all normal. Number 3...he is tiny (to me anyway). Does anyone know of pups that have had seizures being neutered without any problems? I know they are out there but it would make me feel better knowing about them I know that neutering is best for him but I keep thinking about what if something happens and it will be my fault. Also I am concerned because my vet usually has them stay overnight. Does anyone have a vet that does this? Who will watch him? All I can think about is my baby being scared to death all night in a strange place...seriously I want to cancel so bad I cannot stand it! Someone talk me out of it ASAP!

| You are a normal Yorkie mommy worrying. Make sure you have pre-op bloodwork done. Is your vet aware of the seizure a few months back? Many vet offices do not have staff in the office overnight. The primary reason vets want to keep the dogs is that many owners won't keep the dog quiet after surgery. Many dogs bounce back very quickly, but they shouldn't be running around right after being neutered. If you have an xpen or kennel, you could insist that you want to bring your dog home before the office closes for the night. Best wishes to Jax.

| Get it done, and glad you had the blood test. He will be fine, and back to being his old self in a few days. They bounce back fast. Relax.... |

| Yes pre-op blood work is being done. My vet did see Jax during the weird episode...we still don't really know what that was but it was terrifying! I have thought about insisting on bringing him home but still not sure...I would keep him quiet and I don't want to step my vet's toes when he has been doing this for many years

| Don't worry you should be fine, you've had the bloodwork done, personally I wouldn't leave him over night unless they have staff there the whole time, if he's home with you in your bed, you can monitor him. good luck

| You and Jax will be in my thoughts and prayers. You have nothing to worry about. I had bloodwork done for mine also, it gives you one less thing to worry about. I was terrified when I had my girls spayed and my boys neutered. I wanted to stay at the vet with them but I realized they were in great hands with my vet. But they all have done great especially boys, they just take of running.

| Welcome to the world of worried moms. I too was terribly nervous when Bailee was neutered. We had the appointment for a month prior to his surgery, and I was ready to cancel. But, that would have only meant that I would have to face it at a later date. This is best for your little Jax. He will recover quickly. We brought Bailee home the evening of his surgery. He slept all night in his pen, and was wide awake and alert the following morning. Prayers for a safe surgery and recovery for little Jax. Keep us posted. Hugs to you and Jax from Judy & Bailee Boy

| I always bring my pups and foster pups home after neuter/spay surgery. I will not leave them in an unattended office. I do not feel like I am stepping on my vet's toes...nor should you! If you feel comfortable bringing him home...and will rest better...I say bring him home! I am sure he will be fine....there really is not much to a neuter on a male and they recover quickly!

| My Husband cried when he brought him in; after, we both felt such relief. So I can really relate to how you feel. We'll be thinking of you. |

| As others have said, you might want to ask to bring him home rather than staying overnight. Bullet was just 2.8 lbs when he was neutered at 7 months and he also had 9 baby teeth pulled. He had pre-op bloodwork and everything went very smoothly. He was drowsy when we first brought him home at about 5pm, but by 9pm he was walking around and playing. Hope all goes well with your furbaby too!!!!

| My thoughs are with Jax. He'll be fine and home with you before you know it. I never leave my babies at the vet overnight after spaying or neutering. I want them home with me. |
