| Nasty Neighbor I was standing on my deck cleaning the dead toys off it when I heard this shouting from a couple of houses away from me. All of a sudden these two men got into a fight and all hell broke loose. I watched the whole fight and then two men broke them up, my next door neighbor was one of them. After it was over I went over to him and asked what happened and the jist of it was that the man had sprinkled ice melter all over the sidewalk and in the street that wasn't pet safe and this other man's dogs steipped on it and started screaming when it got into their paws. This jerk told the other man that he doesn't care about any animals and if the man didn't like it he can find somewhere else to walk his dog. Hows that for being a creep? I always use pet safe ice melter I didn't know they made anything else. I'm so glad my dogs go in our back yard and we have somebody come once a week to clean up the poop. |

| not everyone cares about animals, I like dogs more than kids, I don't mind giving people their kids back but I'd keep their dog. To each is own and there are all kinds of salt for roads and street, I bet if you check your city probably doesn't use pet friendly stuff on the roads |

| We always use pet friendly de-icer. Thankfully, where I live most all of my neighbors have dogs and we all love our babies. I don't trust or like people who don't like animals. I think there is something wrong with them. |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | Sorry, but it's really not up to the guy who doesn't own the dogs to make sure the de-icer he puts down is pet friendly. I'm going to bet that the majority of de-icers that go out aren't. The only thing we can control is how we choose to deal with it. If I were your neighbor, I would buy some snow boots for my dog.

| He or someone else who has animals in the neighborhood could buy pet safe de icer and give it to the neighbor in a friendly way. Might have done more to help his dogs paws than the fight ! Maybe the guy doing the de icer didn't even know the difference in de icers.? |

| I think the worst thing is the comment. I mean really "just go walk your dog some wear else" is like saying go move to another neighborhood because i want to get my mail naked and that might offend your child. In my city we are not allowed to put salt down on the street or sidewalk only on our own property the city comes around with a liquid spray stuff that they spray on the street and the sidewalks I have no idea what it is but it works fast and thear is almost no remnant left over (every once in a while there will be a little blue color on the snow wear it did not dissolve all the way through a big drift) The dogs walk fine on the sidewalk after it is put down I wash feet after walks anyway

| This guy is a real pig and according to my neighbor, nobody likes him. He was accused of poisoning this lady's cat but nobody could prove it. Now this other man with the dogs is planning some kind of revenge. My neighbor said he doesn't know what he plans to do but he said he's staying out of it. I hope it's something juicy I could use some excitement in my life. The best part is I can see everything from my deck it's better than watching cable tv. |

I didn't know there was a difference until now. The guy apparently never heard you catch more flies with honey. I think he should have nicely suggested there was a pet friendly de-icer, maybe even bought him some as a friendly gesture. Some people don't get it that you can't 'force' someone to come around to your line of thinking with aggression. I'd have to say the one guy is worse than the non-animal liker...which he probably only said that because the first guy probably came across all tough and demanding.

| bad neighbor Cops wife here again with a warning, it may be interesting to watch but something like that between to aggressive men can turn bad, just hope the one that doesn't like dogs doesn't take it out on the dogs. Some people try to be tough but end up being stupid. He knows his neighbor loves his dogs so they are a way to get to him. They make a product called something like safe feet that you rub on the pads before you take them out and it protects their feet from the chemicals. I'd do a web search and I'm sure you'll find it. |

| news story just this past week here in Vegas, just down the street from our house. Similar situation, two guys get into it about something. that evening one is in jail and the other is dead. so sad that people can no longer seem to settle their differences without violence. |

| Watch out for what you wish for... I thought the same thing (more excitement) till two neighbors were arguing one night about 1 AM, then I heard a gunshot. Thank God I lived in a brick townhouse bc the bullet hit 3 feet from the head of my bed while I was in it sleeping with my furbutt. Cable is safer.

| Yeah, I'm pretty sure the only de-icer we have/or is commonly used in Halifax is salt, straight up street salt. (yuck). Harley's feet are two small for boots so we use the invisaboot cream, it works wonders on your hands too.
