| Newbie Hi everyone! I am new to YT and a new Yorkie owner. Actually, we got my 16 year old daughter a Yorkie baby for Christmas, but I have fallen in love with her. Her name is Nala and she is the sweetest thing EVER!!! We have a 13 year old mixed breed who is so sweet and a very good dog, but there is just something about Nala. Wow, I don't remember housetraining being so difficult with Bailey !! Nala is a little more difficult, but no worries, we will get there. I have found some wonderful advice on this forum and look forward to being a part of it.

| Welcome to YorkieTalk. Congratulations on your pup Nala. She is young, but stay consistent and optimistic with the potty training and it will work.

| There is just something about yorkies... Welcome to YT. Yes. You are right. There really is something special about yorkies. They are more like little people than any little dog I've ever seen. Some think they are very difficult to housebreak, but I have always found that consistency, reward, and jumping for joy, when they do things right, is the best way to reap the rewards of having a housebroken puppy.

I am thinking you are right. I think Nala may need a little Yorkie friend and I may need my own Yorkie baby!! Now I just have to convince the DH. He is in love with Nala too so that may help. I posted some pics of my girls. One furry, one not so much. lol

| Welcome to YT!! You will love this forum as I have had some great advice and have learned much here. Good luck on the potty training. I did have a difficult time with my baby at first but now she lets me know when she has to go out. Is your daughter training on pee pads? |

| She looks so cute! I looked at her pics. In fact, she's darling. She looks very tiny, so perhaps you might be interested in this link: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...out-socks.html

| I am training her to go out to the back yard. (it is fenced). I also have a pee pad by the back door for emergencies, which she uses. We had about 10 inches of snow a couple of weeks ago, and I took her to the garage. I think I have confused her with all the places I am taking her.
