Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Choking??? Hello, Just wondering if any of you have Yorkies that choke from time to time? I have heard Molly choking before and she seems to always cough it out and end up okay. However, this morning she was coughing in a way that sounded horrible to me. She had just woken up and I don't know if maybe she choked on her drinking water or what. I brought her downstairs and for the rest of the day she has seemed fine. Is this normal? Or should I be worried?

| reverse sneeze? I am not the most experienced Yorkie mom, but I have heard of a reverse sneeze, or a Yorkie cough. On the more serious side is the collapsing trachea. Could be that. Hopefully more knowledgeable member will be of more help to you. Best wishes. |

| I was also thinking that it could be reverse sneezing. It does sound scary too. But, is harmless to your dog.

| My Teddy does that whenever he drinks too much water. He will also do it occasionally after he's chewed on something fuzzy. If she keeps doing it constantly or if you're really concerned I would have her checked by a vet. Better knowing it's nothing. |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Thank you. I sure hope it is nothing serious. Collapsed trachea is one of the things my Pom has and I sure hope Molly doesn't! I actually had made an appt. to take her in tomorrow. But since she seems fine now we want to wait since we are planning to get her spayed and teeth pulled soon. That will cost plenty. Good idea though on the video taping. They never do seem to do what you take them in for when you take them in. I had wondered if maybe she chocked herself out drinking water since I had just gotten her out of her bed crate and into her Expen where her food and water are.

| My Elsa coughs when she drinks water too sometimes. I got to check into the reverse sneeze. I bet if I tell my husband about that he will probably start using that line when he passes gas..LOL. Better keep that one to myself. |

| My dogs do it when they play too rough and sometimes when they drink too fast. I don't know if CT shows up on an xray but my Shorkie was xrayed a couple of weeks ago because of another problem and nothing showed up so right now I'm not too concerned and they don't do it very often. |
