Congratulations on bringing home a new yorkie pup Will it be a girl or boy? How many Chihuahua's do you have now? Do you have any names picked out or are you going to wait and see what matches its personality? Best of luck with your new Puppy and please share a picture for us all to see.

| Yes, welcome, and ask any questions you may have! Your new pup will be a bit "down" since he or she will be separated from Mommy and Daddy, but they will be okay after a day or two! Just be careful, they are really tiny when they are babies! Make sure you get the basic necessities like food and a dish for them. | Don't forget the package of PUPPY PADS to start training! And yes, they are tiny..... Ours were only 8 oz when we picked up our little babies, so be very careful and try not to have the chihuahua's scare your new baby. Looking forward to seeing pictures. |

AAAAwwwwww......a baby! I guarantee you will fall head over heels in love the minute you see him/her! They are the most wonderful creatures, our Yorkies! List of baby equipment that is really helpful: CRATE - Their little home that gives them such a good safe feeling. Put clean baby blankets in it. BABY BLANKETS (2) - Just those little, light flannel things you can get in WalMart. They love them to snuggle in. GOOD NATURAL FOOD - We started Higgins on Pinnacle dry puppy kibble and a little Pinnacle canned food. SOLID GOLD LAMB JERKY TREATS - OR - NUTRICAL - Our little ones may be subject to hypoglycemia which comes on fast and can kill them, so they need a little boost once, or twice a day. They love the lamb jerky treats and as my vet said "It's like a protein power bar to keep their little system going." LOTS OF TOYS! - The more toys a terrier has, the less destructive they are with YOUR stuff! Put them all in a low "toy basket or box" and let them pick out which ones they want to play with at the moment. Mine love getting their toys out. Then just pick 'em up once or twice a day and let 'em start all over. CONGRATULATIONS! And post some pictures soon! Details! We want details! Name? Weight? Gender? Aaaawwwwww.......a baby......... PS - My son has a 10 month old long haired chihuahua and Princess and my Higgins are BEST friends. They LOVE to romp and play for hours! Last edited by Higgin's Mom; 06-27-2004 at 03:04 AM.

Greatest People Hi Everyone, Thank you for making me feel so welcome. I thank you for all the tips you've given me as well, on what I will need for my Yorkie. I am soooo excited about this little baby girl. Unfortunatley, I cannot pick her up until Tuesday now. But, for good reason. I met the woman I am getting her from and she wants to take her to the vet once more for her health guarantee. I named my little girl Amber. She is beautiful. I had such a hard time leaving her. She is all I can think about. Of course I have let my chihuahua's know they have a little girl coming. I have 3 chihuahua's 2-female and 1 -male.1-female is almost 3 lbs. her name is Autumn Dreams, the other female is around 4 lbs, her name is Spring Flower, she is my daughters dog so she got to pick her name. My little boy is just over 2 lbs. his name is Cooper. They are so cute and funny. Each has their own personality and they are all very dear to me. I'm not sure how to post pictures, but I will try to figure it out. Once again, thank you so much for the warm welcome. I will keep everyone updated.

AMBER, what a pretty name you picked out.........as are all the other ones also. I'm sure all of your chihuahua's will just love her too. They seem to be all about the same size too which will make AMBER feel better and right at home. Try to get a photo of them all when you get her settled and share it with us. It sounds like AMBERS breeder wants to make sure she is ok, and thats a good sign. Hope all goes well for you on Tues and thanks again for replying. Lots of belly rubs to your little ones !
