| Will they fall out on their own??? Harlie is 7 months old today and now has double fangs top and bottom . Her adult teeth are not all the way in yet and the fangs are still hanging in there. I know I should have had the removed when she was under for her spay but I didn't have the extra cash at the time. You think they'll fall out? |

| Maybe, maybe not. Yorkies are prone to retained baby teeth. My vet charges $7 a tooth to extract if done while spaying/neutering. Not much IMO to not have to worry about putting a baby under again. Fortunately, Lulu had lost all of her baby teeth so she didn't need any extracted. I don't know what age it is recommended to wait until having them removed (if not done at the time of spay/neuter). Maybe someone more experienced can help you out with that.

| Bella had to get her top 2 k9s removed, I waited about 2 weeks to see if the baby teeth would fall out but they didn't, they were in there tight and not moving...she was about 8 mos old at the time...I wouldn't wait to long to have them removed they could damage the adult teeth.

| The canines if they are retained rarely come out on their own. I would say at 7 months that it is highly unlikely they will and it really is important to have them removed. It's a shame you did not do it when she was spayed.

| Austin had that too. And I thought it was weird. I emailed his vet and sure enough 2 weeks later those teeth came out on their own. He looks sooo cute. I called it doubled canines..lol Give it time. They come out by 8 months. Austin hasn't been neutered yet, he will be soon.

| Thanks for the info you all. I would have paid to have them removed but my vet wanted $20 per tooth which I didn't have at Christmas. Now I'm kicking myself for not doing it! |

| They may still come out on their own. Chloe was spayed at 6 mos. At that time she had lost all but two canines. I ASKED for them to be pulled when she was spayed but my Vet made the decision on his own to leave them "to let them fall out on their own". I was furious but to my surprise, about two weeks later one did, indeed, fall out. The fourth and last took months longer. I switched Vets and was going to have it pulled at her first dental cleaning, neither of us were willing to put her under for one tooth. Then when she was about one or so, the last one fell out. At 7 mos., give her some time yet. Btw, my Vet wants $5. per tooth. I wouldn't have wanted to give $20. either.

| At this point, I would try wiggling every day. Yes, they could still come out but wiggle wiggle wiggle as much as you can! |

| pixie was 7 months on dec 28th and she still has all four also. i'm giving her a couple more weeks to let them fall out on thier own or i'll have them removed. they can cause damage to thier adult teeth if left in too long. unfortunately she was already spayed at 4 months old before i got her by a humane society. so her getting them removed at same time isnt an option for us either. zowi's teeth all came out on thier own, but nika needed hers removed. our vet gave nika till she was 8 months old to lose them on her own but they weren't even loose and they never did. pixie loves nylabone puppy dental chews from petsmart and i think they do help....

| I noticed Harlie is really starting to chew again and I know it's for those last few teeth. She loves for me to hold her rawhide chews so she can "get down" on them. Maybe this will loosen them up. |

| Memphis is 5 1/2 mos now and we call him shark boy. He has two full sets of top teeth including k9's and a full set of adult teeth on the bottom plus several baby teeth too. The ones on the bottom have started to fall out and several are loose. The vet said we could wait till 7 1/2 mos for neuter and teeth in hopes of minimalizing the number of extractions. |

| They could, but then maybe not. I wouldn't wait months and months because food can get stuck. Bacteria can thrive. Your pup could be in pain, and it can ruin the bite if not done in time.
