| I currently live in Atlanta and I am the proud papa of Nekko my yorkie who is 5 years old and Norie who is a shorkie and she is just 12 weeks. Life for me is work and my babies. Although my little guy Nekko as of late has been displaying some pretty unusual behavior and im not sure if its because of our new addition or what. That is kind of the reason I am here to try and get some answers. I love Nekko to death and I make it a point to not show either of them more attention than the other. Little Norie is a real go with the flow type of girl. Nekko has been spoiled I must say and its all about him. So tell me about yourself and your yorkie(s). Thanks for rolling out the welcome mat! |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Welcome. Neeko may need a little extra attention right now. Mine all adjusted to new additions pretty quickly. I bet Neeko will love having a little sister once he gets use to her. I have 4 yorkies and they are like their own little family now. They are Nikki, a male I have had for almost a year, approx 16 years old (a rescue so not sure of age), Cali a female who is 5 1/2, Pixie who is 5 and Roxie who is 3.

| Welcome to YT. Spoiled yorkies are the talk of the day around here. Can you imagine that? Is your male neutered? I was wondering if that may be part of his different behavior. If he is neutered, he's jealous.

My Lil Man! Donating Member | Welcome to YT! It's great to meet you and Nekko and Norie! You will love it here! So much wonderful advice and people who all have the love of our furbabies first in mind! When we made a second addition to our furbabies Gizmo (my second yorkie but the only one at the time of getting Hershey our mini weenie) he wasn't ever really jealous but had already gotten used to being center of attention and getting spoiled...so when giving treats or putting food down, giving kisses or whatever we always give Gizmo first attention and then Hershey second so that Gizmo won't feel like Hershey came in and trying to steal his spot! Lol. It works with my furbabies and I have heard of others doing the same so you may wanna give it a try! Goodluck and nice to meet you! |

As others have pointed out, you should do everything for Nekko first. Let him know that he is still your special boy. What kind of unusual behavior have you noted from Nekko?

| Hi and welcome to Yorkietalk! I have two yorkies, Sadie and Beemer. Sadie was 1 1/2 when we got Beemer. She acted like her life had ended. She wouldn't even come in the same room with him. It didn't take long though before they were inseparable. They are best friends now. She really mothers him. If he squeals when I'm brushing him She comes running to make sure he's ok. We've come so far!! You've gotten good advice. Nekko knows he is suppose to be top dog and it should stay that way for now. Norie doesn't have any idea that she should come first so it won't bother her. After I got Beemer my breeder reminded me that when he was with her he would have been thrilled to be Just second!
