| Are hard toys ok? So I bought Harley this bone, it's solid plastic (i.e nothing breaks off of it when chewed), and it has a hockey puck in the middle (with the bf's fav team on it) but it's not hockey puck material, it's rubbery but it is a dog toy. I got it cause harley loves to chew on rubbery toys, I figured he'd chew on the puck. while he chews on the puck he also LOVES to chew on the hard part. I know this toy is designed for larger dogs as the toy itself is rather big, so I guess my question is, with their smaller more fragile teeth, is it ok to let him chew on this hard thing? I've just never had such hard toys for him, he has his hard rubber toys, but nothing really solid (although he used to try and chew on his ceramic dishes (which I changed so he wouldn't break them). Thanks.

| I think it should be fine. I would just inspect the toy often for any splintering or chuncking off. I give my girls Nylabones and they are really hard too. These are usually the toys they chew on over the rubbery ones. I have no idea why, I think they rubbery ones would feel kinda good to knaw on. |
