| Doggie Day Care So the place where I get the pups groomed offers a 'doggie day care'. Thinking maybe I would send Lucy a half day or so a week; I checked it out. It appears to be two large, separate areas (one for large dogs) with a few beds thrown in; some worn looking toys and just a big free for all. Looked pretty much like a big kennel with no supervision. Is this the norm? I'm thinking there is NO WAY Lucy would enjoy that for a half day or even an hour.

| You mean like this: Webcams I don't know if there'll be anything to see given the hour, but I looked into this one since it was close and they're open early and late. But during the day you can see what the pups were doing and I didn't like what I saw.

| I'm not sure. Could you spend an hour or so there and see what goes on? Ask how often they wash/replace everything (i.e. toys. beds) If they require vet health clearance. I always worry about places like that because my aunt's Yorkie got kennel cough from one.

| Pnut goes to a day care, she has a house and its all gated big dogs, small dogs have their own space. Pnut loves it, he doesnt like to spend the night but he always comes home so tired and worn out!! I would reccomend getting the Bordatella vaccine, if you plan on taking Lucy there.

| I've seen one day care that I would send mine to. Before I had Beemer I took Sadie with me on a business trip to Ohio. I left her at Pet Palace. They do stay separate most of the time. They have supervised play time for I think an hour three times during the day with three to four like sized dogs. You can also request (and pay for) additional one on one people time - playing, throwing a ball, or just cuddling. They also gave you a report card at the end of the day that told you how they did and who they played with and how it went. It was perfect for my needs. I wouldn't leave mine in a situation where there are just a bunch of dogs without supervision. To me it's asking for trouble.

| I just looked and here's how they describe it on their website. Our unique playgroup approach allows dogs to interact with other dogs in a "small group" setting interspersed with nap times in individual villas. This alternative to traditional doggy day care allows pets the opportunity to socialize with other pets in a small, controlled environment.

| We have done doggie daycare and it is a big area with small and large dogs in separate areas....but there is always staff supervision in case there are any bullies in the group! Some dogs love it and some don't. Teddy does horrible at daycare, Daisy is indifferent, and Barney LOVES it and never wants to come home.

| I send my girls to doggy day care periodically. They love it! We use Camp Bow Wow which is (mostly) nationwide. The dogs are always able to come inside/outside at will and there is constant supervision. I often log on the web cam and see the staff loving on one of my girls or someone else's dog. I have never logged on and seen the dogs unattended. They are segregated by size. ETA: Ours looks nothing like that shown on the webcam. What's with the mop water just left there? | I really want to have Duke go to day care once a week, especially with the cold weather and we can't go on long walks. I would definitely check out the place first to see if they have them by size/temperament. I'm looking at visiting this one place though I don't think they have the camera option
