| Have you tried an oatmeal bath or oatmeal shampoo? If it's really bad I would take him to the vet to see what's wrong with his skin. I hope it heals up soon! |

Our Blessings R Many Donating Member | Hi Shelly and Jaxson Hi Shelly and Jaxson, Welcome to YT. I too suggest talking with your vet. What food is Jaxson getting? Our Dolly is allergic to Lamb and some foods Patti and Jack and Girls. |

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | Certain food will cause that. Do you have any vasaline you could rub on the areas to make him more comfortable? I would get him in to the vet for a scraping also to rule out anything else.

| Love the name, Jaxson, by the way! It's our little boy's name too! Oddly enough, our Jaxson had some skin issues to begin with as well. We started him on oatmeal shampoo baths, and even switched his food to one that the groomer and vet both recommended. It has helped tremendously!! I would definetely talk to your vet and talk with the pet store owners where you buy your food. They'll know which brands/types would benefit a little Yorkie with skin issues. Your vet will be able to tell you if there's something else that might be going on too! Don't wait too long and let it get worse! Just fyi...the brand of dog food that we now go with is Canidae, and it's grain free. Good luck!

Donating YT 500 Club Member | What shampoo are you using to bathe him? Some shampoos are very drying for skin and that could be the reason for his dry, flaky skin. I know Johnson's baby shampoo can be very drying for skin.
