| brand new owner of a yorkie! Hello everybody! I was suprised by my boyfriend last night with a 1 year old yorkie and already love him to death. He bought "bear" from a home where they did not take very good care of him. He was very dirty and I think has fleas. I gave him a bath, bought a new collar, gave him flea medication, and a new sweater and he looks like a brand new boy! However, even though I took him a bath he as "eye boogars" really bad around his eyes. I bought tear stuff but the eye boogies are so clumped in his hair that it will not loosen. I am going to take him to the vet next week but is there anything I can do to get rid of this gunk around his eyes? Thanks! Danielle and little bear |

| Congratulations!! When my dog gets eye goop, I wet a washcloth with warm water, wring it out, and hold it on the goop. The goop gets soft and then I pick it off with my fingers. Good luck with your new baby. Have fun!!!! |

| Welcome to YT. Congratulations on your new lil guy! He should get a good vet check. If he hasn't been neutered, you'll want to plan for that to be done soon. You will also want to have the vet check his teeth to see if he has any retained baby teeth that need to be removed during the neuter. Good luck and keep us updated.

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Congrat on your sweet furbaby... Warm wash cloth for the eye boogies... And I do recommend using a harness instead of a collar... the collar could damage they'er wind pipe due to it being so "straw like"

| Congratulations, sounds like he is on his way to being well taken care of. I hope they kept up to date on his shots, sounds like they didn't give him flea medication. I hope they kept up on the heartworm med. You need to get him to the vet for bloodwork.

| Hi and Welcome to YT. Glad you rescued this poor little yorkie. Good advice. Warm washcloth on the eye area and then a flea comb. That's what I do. Also as was said check his teeth evidently this poor baby was neglected and his teeth must be checked out to make sure he has no retainiing baby teeth. Also his shots and you should have him neutered as soon as possible. |
