| new to this stuff hi, my name is Beverly. I just bought my first Yorkie! She is beautiful. I just got her home today. She had two shots before we left the ladies home. She got sick and vomited on the car ride home and has vomited several times since. I am like a new mama . Worried about her. Her name is Muffin. I retired from Nursing after forty years this week and want her for a companion. Any ideas about her vomiting? Think she will be okay? |

How old and how much does your pup weigh? Make sure she is drinking as they can dehydrate quickly. In any case, mention to the vet today about the nausea, he/she can prescribe something to settle her tummy. There are a lot of good articles here ; read the one on immunization, and the one for New Yorkie owners. Welcome to YT

Poppy's Mamma ♥ Donating Member | Hi and welcome to YT. Congratulations on your new pup! Do you know how soon before you picked her up that she had the shots? I would first say it may just be car sickness but if she carried on vomitting while at home then I think not. If she had the shots not long before you picked her up it could be because of those. Gemy is right you should take the pup to the vet within 48 hours (just for a check up, its the norm when getting a new pup) then you can mention the vomitting. How is she now? you could try her with some boiled chicken and rice to settle her tummy before you get her to a vet. Good luck and please post some pictures when you get a chance.

| Welcome to yorkie talk, congrats on your new yorkie. Hopefully she was just car sick and she should be ok. Make sure you take her to your own vet so she won't get dehydrated. Take a stool sample if you can so the vet can make sure she's ok. Please post pics soon so we can see her.

| Welcome to YT yes I agree with everybody it is very important for the puppy to be seen by a vet within 48 hours. Zach threw up in the car on the way home from the breeder also. This is why you should have her checked out by a vet so if something is wrong it can be detected and corrected. Would love to see photos of your new baby when you can. |

| Welcome to YT! How is little muffin doing now? Were you able to take her to the vet? my yorkie became car sick on the way home when we first got her. However, she only threw up once. I hope Muffin is better now. Can't wait to see pictures of your little one.
