what type of yorkie is my puppy? I am very confused if my puppy is in fact a Biewer yorkie, a tri color or a parti yorkie. I am first time dog owner so everything is very new and I a been doing tons of research trying to find out on what exact type of yorkie breed my dog is. Hoping the yorkie experts could tell me. No, I do not know who the mother and father is. I know that is a big no no, but there is a long story behind that.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | WOW, what a cutie! He looks more Biewer to me, than parti...but I'm no expert there...just my 2 cents. Did you get him in Thailand?

yes, I live in Thailand and got him here, hence the confusion on his breed. Lets just say breeding farms here operate different than in Europe or the US. Mostly dogs are bought in stores and they said he was a yorkie/s**tzu but as I did my research I could clearly see he was not.

Thank you all. I am full of joy, I have had him a week. Already potty trained, does not cry at night even thought he sleeps in his den. So well behaved. Just so much love.

Doesn't he have a pedigree? Doesn't the breeder know? Is he AKC? If he were crossed with a Biewer then he would not be AKC registered and the breeder would know. So my guess he is a parti colored yorkie, but not mixed with Biewer. The parti/Biewer thing is pretty complicated. All Biewers are parti colored, but not all parti colored yorkies are Biewers. Its sort of like all squares are rectangles but not all rectangles are squares. there is an additional requirement for Biewers. The word parti refers to color pattern.

Without any information on the parents/pedigree, there is no way to determine for certain if he is a Biewer vs Parti, or even if he is full Yorkie for that matter. (Just because he may "look" just like one doesn't mean it's so.) Regardless, he's certainly a cutie!
