| Question about re-homed dog Chuy has been with us for over a month now, and he has been such a great little dog. He walks on a loose leash, he's a dream to groom, totally housebroken and very sweet, loving, and loyal. The previous owners loved him very much but they decided to re-home him because of an unplanned upheaval in their work schedules. It wasn't uncommon for him to have to spend 60 hours alone, every week, in a laundry room, so they did what was best for him even though it was very painful. Here is my question: I want to send them a Christmas card that includes pictures of him, and let them know how well he is doing. If you had to go through what they did, would you want to get such a card, or would it just be a painful reminder? I appreciate what they did in putting his best interests over their own feelings (and I feel very blessed to be the beneficiary), but I don't want to rub salt in the wound. If you were in their place, what would you want?

| I think it is a very thoughtful, caring thing to do for the previous owners. I think that they would want to know that Chuy is loved and cared for and that they made the best decision for there dog. I think seeing photos of him thriving in his new home would be a great gift for them and may act like some sort of closure.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I think I would want to know and I'd appreciate a card and a picture - if nothing more than to put my mind at ease to know he is happy and loved...it would confirm that I did the right thing. I know it's not exactly the same - but I send Dee and Karen pictures of Greta every couple of weeks along with an e-mail to let them know how she's been doing. She was with them a year so I'm sure that Karen especially got attached to her. They seem to appreciate knowing she is loved. But that's just my opinion.

| I would want to know if my Brandi was being taken care of. I would welcome it. While it may be a painful reminder for me, it would also be very comforting knowing that some one else loves my little one as much as me. It would bring some relief I supposed. It's sort of like when my mom passed away last year but I have her ashes at home on the mantel. While it is painful, it's still sort of comforting. |

| I think they would LOVE to know how well Chuy is doing. Yes, it would probably be bittersweet to hear, but I think they would like to know they did the right thing and that he is doing well. I've cried like a baby many times when I place fosters and getting updates has left me with tears streaming down my face, but I still love hearing how well the dogs are doing.

| I think it is a kind, wonderful thing to do. Occasional cards and photos would probably help to reassure them they did the right thing, too.

| If I were the previous owners, I would love to get this update and any pics you sent. It would reassure me that I'd truly found a loving, lasting home for him.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I think they would appreciate it. I know when I would take Nikki to visit his former owner in the nursing home she was so happy to see him. I know it was hard on her to see him leave each time but she knew he was being loved and that made it easier.
