| Bangs I'm going away for two weeks and none of my family (2 twenty something males and one 50-ish hubbie) will brush or deal with my dogs. I'm thinking that I should cut Abbi's bangs, because I know they will not brush her and redo her ponytail while I am gone. Trying to convince myself that it is just hair and it will grow out again. |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | I would do whatever will be easier for your furbaby to deal with while your gone.. Meaning if you know they are not going to do her hair and keep it out of her eyes then I would cut them...

♥ love my girls!! ♥ Donating Member | Oh gosh!! What a tough spot to be in! I know there are a lot of people who keep their Yorkies in long coats who never put their hair up in bows or pony tails....they just leave it streaming down. If you really can't bribe anyone into doing a quick brush of just her pony tail every couple of days or so, I would try leaving it down for a day or 2 while your there just to see what happen before I chopped it off! Also, I have a 5 month old puppy right now whose "bangs" aren't really long enough to get in her eyes yet, but I still keep her in a pony tail, just because I think it's cute and also to keep her used to it!! I say that because, instead of chopping it all the way into a visor like I've seen some Yorkies' bangs who are in short coats, maybe you could put her pony tail in and then cut right above the rubber band....if that's short enought to stay out of her eyes, which it should be, then you'd still be able to put it up when you get back!!! PLUS, it would grow in evenly....I only trim Bella's pony tail like maybe once a year just to even it up, but I trim it while it's actually up in the pony tail. But definitely try to bribe someone first, try it just streaming 2nd, and save chopping for last!!!

| When her hair is not in a pony, it drags right over her eyes, into her water bowl and becomes a "mucky mess". I just let it down for the weekend to try it and she could barely see . . . It WILL grow! (and I'll be on the beach in Maui!!!!) I think I'll live . . . |
