| Yorkie rescues in LA?? Hey everyone!! Does anyone know of any yorkie rescues in LA?? I would like to volunteer and possibly foster. I would like to start helping as many babies as I can now then later! Please let me know if you have experience too! I'm a newbie at this. So I'm confused as to how to start and such. All the rescues that I have looked at mostly have big dogs (pitbulls) and I can't foster them because they are too big (I live in an apt). I thought fostering yorkies would be the best so my it can fit right in with my babies. I am located in west LA (90024), CA. Anywhere close by would be great. Thanks! Oh also! What does it mean by "We are also 501(c)(3)"??

| Try reading this section: Yorkie Rescues & New Homes Needed - YorkieTalk.com Forums - Yorkshire Terrier Community There is a list of Rescue groups there. Fostering is not easy. A lot of the rescue dogs have issues. All of the rescues I have fostered have been rescues from puppy mills. Read all the info in the rescue section and make sure this is what you really want to do. Foster homes are always needed. Thank you for considering fostering a rescue. The 501(c) 3 is a charitable designation - donations are tax deductable (I believe that is what it means)

| We have YTNR here in SoCal. You can PM Capt Noonie, Adi-and-Missy, or check out the YTNR site for information. Both of the girls I mentioned have fostered and know who to contact, and both are local... ish. I'm actually 90057, so I'm in LA, but not a foster mom yet. I don't have the landlord's permission or the space. There is an application you need to fill out. It helps weed out those who are serious from those who just want to do it on a whim I suppose. Here's the link: http://www.yorkierescue.com/app.html

That sounds great!! When and where do you guys usually meet? The meetups are only once a month and cancels on rainy days...I was so disappointed when the November one was cancelled due to rain my babies were anticipating for it too. hehe

| Well,, seems like an informal meetup is tentavtively scheduled at my shop in anaheim for Friday. Word of caution, it's a tiny shop and there's not much running room, but it'll be just "us" meaning Uni, Kaji, Missy, and *you* if you so please to join us. I know it's quite a ways from the west side, so don't think you must. but if you are interested please pm me.
