| Worried, Please give me your feedback I posted this in sick/injured but there is not as much traffic, so I'm p;osting here, too. For the last three days our Bella has been "licking her lips" on and off throughout the day. She acts normal, eats, does not seems to be in pain. It's just that her tongue is in/out in/out, never done this before. What could be wrong. She is seeing the vet tomorrow, but I'm so worried. I thought someone might be able to ease my mind so I could get some sleep tonight. Thanks for any help you could provide. She does not do it while she is sleeping, only awake. |

| I've never seen this, but I did some looking around - found this: Lips licking in dogs is usually associated with stress and nervousness. As your dog is also isolated which is another sign of stress, so, there are chances that your dog is having stress. Another reason of lip licking is excessive salvation or drooling which can be due to some specific stimuli like food, excitement etc and some pathological conditions like like gum & dental diseases, tongue injury, stomach disorders, mouth ulcers, tumors in mouth, and due to some metabolic disorders. Lip licking in dogs can also be the part of self grooming because dogs can clean any area of the body including lips if dirty. So, you should ease out stress of your dog or visit a vet to get advice. My Dog Is Isolating, Licking Her Lips Constantly And Not Acting Like...

| I don't know how old Bella is, but I was wondering when her last teeth cleaning was? Perhaps she does have infected teeth, as mentioned above...Let us know what you find out.

| Kobe use to do this all the time, I think it had to do with allergies. He would like his lips and paws constantly. Any changes to her food, many she is allergic to something. Once I switched his food it stopped, now he only does it occasionally.

| When Baxter did this - he had tonsilitis. But he was also lethargic and wouldn't eat. |
