| How much does your dog nanny/sitter charge? Hey all... Just wondering how much your nannies/sitters are charging. Our current nanny is INCREDIBLE but she is pretty costly. We want to add another Yorkie to our family, but if we do our nanny prices are going to ROCKET SKY HIGH!!! we vacation about 3x/year. Not saying it isn't worth it b/c she takes tip top care of Snick, but just wanted to see what others experienced. Do your sitters have a standard price per dog or if you have more than one, do you get a reduced rate?? Our nanny has a fixed price per dog, no reductions for multiples. BTW-we are in the Metro Detroit area if you happen to know anyone We are looking for a back-up if our nanny is ever unavailable, or someone that's just as good but more cost effective if we get another. All responses are appreciated....money is always a touchy issue. THANKS! Snick & Viv

| I wish I was closer to you -- I dogsit right now while getting through college. I walk a few dogs daily and I charge $10 per day but that's only for a 30 minute walk. Overnights, I usually get about $20-$30 per night. I'm pretty flexible though and don't necessarily have 'set' prices... I dogsit 2 Boxers and make about $160 for a 3-4 night weekend. I also dogsit a Rottweiler overnight and also make $160 for a long weekend and that's only one dog. That's me going to their house, btw.

| I have a woman that comes to my house for 1 hour as many times a day, she charges me $10.00 per visit. I have 6 she takes out and plays with them for at least 20 minutes and then sits with them the rest of the time a total of 1 hour. Not had any one for overnight yet but I have 2 younger girls, mid 20. 1 is a vet tech. They just say pay what you want , they say they do not care. Not sure what a far price is,but I want to be more than far. I just do not want them to walk them. It is to hard with one person to walk 6 dogs so just play time is good for me. I do not use anyone that much, but it is nice to know if I want to go somewhere I have a few choices.

| Hi Viv, I'm in S.E. Texas, between Houston & Galveston, but you can look on my website, and click on the Bone, at the top of the page that says "services", and see what my rates are...I'm bonded, insured, and cpr/first aid certified...Unless you know the person, personally, you should always get a bonded/insured pet sitter...The cpr/first aid certification is just a plus, for your pets! You can look for a professional pet sitter @ petsit.com and put in your zip code, to see the sitters that service your area...This is a trade group, that has certain requirements to be a member, and holds the members to these standards...I don't think your sitter should charge more for visits, for two pets, unless you are boarding them at their home...I give a discount, for the 2nd pup I board, in the same family...I wish I lived closer to you, and I would board your babies, for a major discount lol... |

| I live in the city of Philadelphia and we have a wonderful petsitter, who is bonded, belongs to PSA, and charges $45/day for two pets which includes three visits...She walks them on each visit, at least 30 minutes, plays with them and feeds them when necessary. Well worth it. When we are in Florida for the winter, we have two sitters, one who charges $10/visit and the other who charges the same $45/day. I am pleased with all sitters.

| Thanks everyone....my nanny keeps Snick at her house. With her rates and our travel, if we added another pup to our family, over the course of a year the nanny charges alone would be over a grand. We could always travel less, but we are still young and I guess want the best of both worlds (being able to afford everything). I have started my search for a new nanny even though I don't want to b/c my current one is so great, but I REALLY want to add another pup to our family. I think in the long run we would all be 43985749835475% happier w/ another furbaby in the house!! I'm pretty certain I can find someone just as wonderful that won't charge me an arm and a leg. My babe already mentions how expensive she is JUST watching Snick. EKKK!! Keep the responses coming!!!! Snick & Viv

| I NEVER go anywhere without my pets for longer than 2hrs..... [I don't go out much anyway] BUT I do pet-sit- usually for family and friends and for how much they want to give.... Once I was sitting a water spaniel and the owner all but THREW her at me.... one lead[rusted and never used] and TWO cans of food- for a weeks stay[which turned into two].... thank heavens I always have a big supermarket ingredients bin full of food due to the foster doggies! |

| Our sitter charges $20 per visit plus $3 per additional pet. When we go on a long vacation we have her come 4 times per day- 2 of those times she takes care of the cats as well as the dogs. It seems expensive but in the end is actually cheaper than a kennel and I know they are comfortable in their own home and getting individualized attention. |

| I pay $50 a day for someone to stay at my house, while we are on vacation. This can be for 2-3 dogs, depending. Expensive, but worth it to me to know they are in good hands and getting all their medicine and lots of love.
