Poppy's Mamma ♥ Donating Member | Use a bin! Im angry This morning I let Poppy and Jess out for potty time. I was writing dog food instructions down for my boyfriend before I left for work while Poppy came back into the house. I called for her and she didnt come to me... she was avoiding me so I knew she was upto no good. I followed her and she seemed to have something in her mouth, I thought oh no not again.. what sort of ickyness have you brought into the house this time. When I managed to get the "thing" out of her mouth I was so SHOCKED. It was a pretty large lump of rice crispie cake covered in a thick layer of CHOCOLATE!! Thank god she didnt eat any because the lump was so big im sure it would have given her chocolate poisoning. The lump of cake was far too heavy for a bird to have dropped into the garden and there is a small path that cuts through mine and my neighbours house into the street behind us. The only thing I can think of is that instead of using a bin someone just threw it over my fence and into my garden! Im so angry if that was what happend! Poppy could have gotten really ill.

| I'm relief that Poppy didn't eat the chocolate or else she might be in vet's clinic by now...you're still lucky and you should talk about this issue with your neighbors... |

Poppy's Mamma ♥ Donating Member | Me too... Im just lucky she's the kind of dog to bury something for later rather then eat it straight away. I shudder to think what would have happend if she had eaten it.

| It is truly amazing what one can find in one's own backyard! I saw some neighborhood kids throwing chocolate candy in a yard where a dog was out. I found out that they were mad at the child who lived there and had heard that chocolate was poisonous to dogs and had decided to hurt the dog. Discussions with parents followed. My neighbor insists on giving my dogs whatever! Mostly dog biscuits, but I have found numerous chicken, beef, and pork bones, and leftovers from their dinner. I have asked many times that she stop doing this, and explained that Yorkies have sensitive stomachs and can't handle all the crap she throws over the fence. I've asked her hubby to have a talk with her. She won't stop, so I am in the process of putting up a fence to block my dogs' access to that side of the yard! In the meantime, I have to walk outside and check the yard before I let the dogs outside!

| I'm glad she didn't eat any of it. Things like this (among other things) are why either my husband or myself always go out with Lulu. She is never allowed outside without supervision.

| Yes, and this was a group of 9-12 year olds. I had to take 5 minutes to compose myself before I could even speak without screaming at them! I don't think I have ever been that mad in my life, not even at my rude neighbor!
