| Chilly "Happy" Hello all I have read threads regarding using onesie's for yorkies and I think that is what I will have to do for Happy. He is 6.5 pounds, I need to measure his length I suppose and try to figure out to make it work. He has plenty of sweaters and coats, however, he is just plain chilly and shivering all the time lol...he isn't sick and our house really isn't cold..but you understand I am sure how it is with a little dog. He followed me into the bathroom this morning and whilst he was laying on the floor he started shivering! So since wearing the sweaters all the time is out of the question - worried about toenails getting caught, I thought the onesie idea would work. Any suggestions for me? Oh this is cute, we have a faux fire place that puts out heat and Happy is obsessed with laying directly in front of it - it is funny because our 17 year old Siamese use to do that as well, we would watch him give himself a bath and say he was "basting" himself like a turkey! |

| How would he go potty in a onesie? If you have any old sweatshirts you don't treasure, you can cut off the sleeves, cut some arm holes and use the sleeve for his neck. I really like hoodies and the four-legged sweat suits for winter.

| I didn't think about altering the onesie. I'd have to have one in front of me to see if it would work. I'll bet it would, but the sweatshirt sleeves would be warmer. You're pretty handy, anyway, so I'm betting you could come up with some pretty cute ideas using them, including seaming the armholes or adding cute stuff to them. Good luck! Have a great day.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | How about a fleece sweatshirt. He should be ok with that on. I bet someone on here could make something for Happy.

| Thank you for all the great ideas! I went out and got a couple of newborn onsies, they will be just fine once I tweak the bottom part for potty time. They had a little dog tshirt there by AKC, it is perfect for him and fits great, they also had a doggy fleece sweat shirt kind of deal - all at Good Will, you never know what you will find there. |

| I have done it! I took the onesie's cut off the part underneath where the snaps are, then I rolled it under and hemmed it by hand. It fits him fantastic! They are Carter's new born onsies in little "boy" colors ie blue, yellow and green stripes on white background. I only paid $1.00 for for each of the two onsies and now that I know I can do this I will go back and get some more These were the short sleeve ones and they seem to work fine, I would love to find some long sleeve ones. I do have to say that the girls outfits are so much more fun! Can I make believe Happy is a girl? LOL I also told my Mother that she can now officially buy baby clothes lol, she has been complaining about us not having any children he he he! |

| That's great! I was thinking that with your sewing talent that you would be able to modify them. He'll be much warmer now. Next time your Mother complains about not having any granchildren, just hand her Happy!
