Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | I have separation anxiety I have to go to a conference out of town tomorrow and won't return until Thursday. Tallulah will be boarding at Yorkie Camp and I know she will be safe and happy. She's been going for daycare for a month now and loves it. And they love her right back. My anxiety is that I'm going to miss her - I'm so used to her sleeping on my tummy when I can't sleep at night. And what if she likes boarding so much she doesn't want to come home? |

| Well I DOUBT that SHE won't want to come home....seems that you have done everything right be getting her accustomed to it. Now for you.....I don't know. Take a picture with you....seriously, maybe a stuff animal? I just think it's awesome for you to feel this way. When my wife and I have a weekend trip away, on the way home I always end up speeding because we miss the babies and can't wait to get back and see them.

| I had surgery this summer and had to spend a couple of days in the hospital. My best friend knew that I was upset about leaving my "kids" and showed up for my surgery with a stuffed dog as a present. I know it sounds goofy but that little stuffed dog meant so much to me. It's not the same but I recommend it! |

| Yes. I'd say you are the one that is going to have separation anxiety. However, don't ever think she won't want to come home to you. She'll be so excited that you'll be ever so thankful she isn't a great dane. She'd knock you flat with happiness, if she were!

| It is so hard to leave your baby home....I hate it too. You are going to miss her...deperately, but that will make coming home all the more special. It's wonderful to see them after being away for a day or so. Hang in there....call the camp and check up on her so you will be less anxious. She will definitely want to come home and so will you

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Well, I did some retail therapy - at Seaport Village there is a cute little pet boutique and I got T a little canvas pet tote. The real challenge will be when I wake up at 3 this morning and don't have my little canine radiator. Guess I should have gotten one of those heated heartbeat things. At least I know that she is getting the best possible care and is with several of her daytime Yorkie buddies. |

| Ahhh, I know.what you mean about missing them. I had gone back to work and thought I would be miserable all day. I managed but I was able to go home at lunch for a middY walk. it helped a lot your baby will be so glad to see you when you get home. Just be prepared to get smothered with all hose yorkies kisses.

| When I travel I keep lots of pics of my babies on my phone (so I can peak when I'm missing them). I usually like to buy them something on the road. It makes me feel better. I also leave them with my parents so I call once a day just to check on them and make sure everything is ok She'll have fun at yorkie camp but will be super excited to see you when you get back. |

| Troy has to be boarded for 5 days while we go visit family for Thanksgiving. I am a bit nervous to leave him. I'm leaving him with the doggy daycare that he goes to . I do trust them but I've never been without him for that length of time. Any other time we travel he always tags along. So I feel your pain but I'm going to push through! |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Well, I made it through the first night. And I didn't get any calls from Yorkie Camp to come pick up my energetic little baby, so I assume she did just fine. I do wonder if she settled down at bedtime or if she tried to play all night because she plays nonstop when she is there for daycare. I went out for a walk between sessions this morning and there was a lady walking a big Yorkie or maybe a Silky - it was all I could to not to run across the street to talk to her but I didn't want to freak her out. At least I get to take T along when we go out of town for Thanksgiving. One night down, two to go. |

| I hope you make it through the rest of the time ok. I don't think I could do it! We're attached at the hip. I think it's a really good idea that you started her out with daycare. She'll always have someplace safe to go and she's happy there. It's nice not to worry. There aren't any places like that here.

| What is yorkie camp? That might be a silly question Is it doggie daycare? Nala LOVES her doggie daycare and gets so excited when we go down that road. The reunion will be so fun though... lots of kisses! |

| aaww. It's amazing how attached to these dogs you can get, isn't it? I've had Tab for a few weeks now and I love her better than any other dog I've ever had (don't tell them that though). Build-a-Bear... there's a Yorkie. Surprisingly lifelike. Put in one of the beating hearts and there you go. |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Yorkie Camp is in Upland, CA, just a few blocks from my home. This wonderful couple, Steve and Janet, have a little bungalow behind their home that's outfitted for the care and comfort of Yorkies and Yorkshire mixes only. They have several of their own, including some rescues, and they provide care for several more. I am so lucky to have found them while planning to get Tallulah. Not realizing how much Yorkies need companionship, I had planned on having them provide daycare until Tallulah got used to being in my home, then taking her perhaps once a week to keep her socialized with other dogs. After seeing how happy she has been there and realizing how hard it is for her to be alone for any length of time, I think she will continue to go while I'm working. And the bonus is that on the rare occasions that I have to travel without her, she can board and it won't be a strange experience for her. I wish everybody with an only Yorkie who works could have access to this type of arrangement. |
