| Horrible yorkie hair cut!! when will it grow back! Hello all, I am a yorkie mom and I decided to have my little one get a haircut ( 4-5 months ago), but what was supposed to be a nice trim turned into the most horrible cut !! Now I dont know what to do ...it was done by a reputable place but i think that this person had never done a yorkie, I explained to her how I would like it, but it was completely cut short and it was thinned out!! so her hair now looks like a bunch of wisps and very sparse and thinned out. She also thinned out her top knot so she cant even hold a pony tail or bow!! I am so sad..because its been about 4 months and her coat hasn't returned at all..any suggestions? or supplements to help grow it back to recover it to its original state. Donating YT 30K Club Member | Welcome. Sorry about the bad haircut. I hear so many people have problems with bad groomers. I would think thee hair should have started to grow back by now. Maybe because they thinned it out it is taking longer to look filled in. Do you have her on a good dog food? I hope some others will have some suggestions.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Oh mannn! So sorry about the bad cut! Some of these cuties hair grows back fast, and some don't. It seems the silky coats don't grow very fast at all, which is what my Roxy has. She will soon be 2 and I've only had her to a groomer once when she was about 5-6 mo old. That was to be her training session. lol. It has taken 2 years to get where she's at. I've only evened out the ends a tad once, do bangs & butt trims as needed. If yours has a very soft silky coat like she does, just sit back & wait it out. Improve diet if that needs some improvement & wait. Roxy is now showing a little faster growth finally, but it has taken allll this time. Wish I had better news for you. Don't mean to be discouraging. Hopefully someone else has some ideas for you. Welcome to YT! PS: I've read so many groomer horror stories on here, that I've decided any future groomings I'll do myself. I'm not a groomer nor a beautician, but I can't do any worse than some of the pics I've seen here done by pros.

| That's exactly what I was afraid of when I brought Zach in last Saturday for his first haircut. I lucked out though because he got a real great cut and the groomer was really young. Don't worry it'll grow back in time. |

| I'm sure your sweetie looks just fine. I've never seen a yorkie that doesn't look anything BUT cute! I'm sure you are disappointed. I would be to. I lucked out and found a wonderful groomer and she comes to my house too! I've learned to take pictures along to show the groomer when I want to make any changes in the cuts I have on my dogs. It does help some groomers and then others, well.... It sounds as if your Yorkie has a very silky coat. If that's so, they can often be very slow growers. But it will grow back.
