| Hello, I am new here and have a ?. Hello, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Tricia, I had a 3.5 lb Yorkie for 13 1/2 yrs. Her name was Candy, she passed away just over a yr ago. I didn't think I would ever beable to get another pup. About 4 months ago I finally started getting the itch for another, so my husband bought me a sweet little Yorkie for Valentines Day. Her name is Princess Alexis(we call her Lexi for short), she will be 12 weeks tomarrow. For my ?, my Candy was a silky and Lexi is just Yorkie. Can someone tell me what's the difference between the 2? Here are a couple pics of my little Princess. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...s/Lexie010.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...s/Lexie011.jpg

| Thanks, I guess Candy wasn't a silky. She only weighed 3.5 lbs.

| I'm not completely positive about the difference. If Candy was small, maybe someone just referred to her hair type as being silky. Sometimes yorkies have cottony coats. I don't know But welcome to yorkie talk! Lexi is adorable, I just want to grab her and kiss her to pieces!!

| bld2751, you are probably right. I was 16 when I bought Candy, babysat (a lot) to save the money for her. I didn't know much then but the breeder was over breeding, and the place was filthy. Less than a yr after I got Candy this woman was shut down. Anyway, it is very possiale this woman said she was a silky referring to her hair. To everyone, thanks for the warm welcome and the complaments. Lexi is one of my girls, but she is the baby (I have 2 daughters 6 and 11).

| Welcome Tricia, I'm new to this board and these people are the best!! They have great advice. My yorkie is new to me too. I also got her for V.D. (not veneral disease, haha) too. she is having problems eating. I found out she is not 9 weeks old like the breeder told me. My puppy looks exactly like yours. If they say every person has a twin somewhere, could it be true for dogs also???? Lisa (clemantine) from Nebraska |
