| What Pet Store Puppies are Supporting For anyone that still does not know how truly disgustng the pet industry is here in North America, just watch this viedo. Charlize Theron's Puppy Mill Investigation | PETA.org THIS is the reason many people on these forums get so upset when people talk about wanting to buy a puppy from a pet store. If you buy a petstore puppy, this is the industry you are directly supporting. I mean no disrespect to people who bought from petstores not knowing the truth. I understand that this is not common knowledge to some and you can't be punished for something you did not know about. I just want to help people who may be looking at getting a new puppy and may not know what they would be supporting. We need to get this information out there so others can make ethical, informed decisions when adding a pup to their lives! |

| bumping this up because I think it is very important for people to see. Already today there are a few threads where people bought from a pet store....I understand it is hard to see the pups suffering in the pet store, but when you purchaise them, the money is going back to the puppy mills...it shows there is a demand and they will continue to breed and sell more puppies. every dime spent on petstore puppies is supporting puppymills...and if you think that the puppies in the stores are suffering, watch the video i posted above to see how their parents are likely suffering 100 times more.... |

| That was very upsetting to watch. I am in tears. I no longer shop at this particular pet shop close to my house because it started to sell puppies. I have to drive quite a distance to a dog food warehouse to buy a certain brand of dog food that the pet shop close to my house stocks. My small inconvenience is worth it to me.

| Sickening! I remember reading about people wondering why a dog they bought kept circling - it's because they've never known anything else but a cage in their lives. Puppymills supply pet stores. The cruelty continues...

| There is actually only 1 pet store locally (for me) that sells animals, aside from fish and such. Needless to say that is not my pet store of choice. The 2 that I go to have the local shelter's there every Sunday for 4 hours for adoptions . I went to Lawrence, Kansas last year and the mall there had several breeds for sale! I mostly think it is sad that the store OWNERS want to support puppy mills. I would think they would have a conscience.

| It's just so disheartening. Once someone knows better, I can't imagine how anyone can support puppymills without guilt. Lane is a puppymill rescue/survivor. The pet store down the street right by the mall went out of business a few months ago, and I felt like throwing a party to celebrate. A small victory, but it makes me hopeful that at least some people are getting it.

YT 1000 Club Member | this makes me sick! I would NEVER buy from a pet store that sells puppies. It is just cruel. I think ALL puppy mills should be shut down and the pet stores should be shut down that sells puppies. What are they thinking? Get a real job instead of hurting these poor helpless dogs!!!!!! |

| So angering. The people who operate puppy mills should be treated like they treat the dogs in their puppy mills. |

I am actually curious...do they legally HAVE to give you the information on where your puppy came from when you buy a puppy?? if so, i would like to get in touch with anyone who has purchased a puppy from a pet store in Toronto or the GTA...I have seriously been considering organizing protests at pet stores that sell animals here and would love to have some sort of proof of where the animals came from. any info would be helpful. just in case anyone wants to organize a protest of a pet store, here is a link to some helpful information...just make sure you double check the laws in your area...make sure you dont do anything to get yourself arrested! Protest a pet store. | |
