| Went to put on jackets Hey all, It's getting that time of year again, the radio already has a contest for who can guess the first day we'll dip below zero (celcius). So with the horses we have a thermometer that marks when we start blanketing, on each designated temperature we've written what layer of blanket they need. Well I'm wondering if anyone knows the recommended temperatures for when a jacket should be used. I'm taking Harley to the bank today, for a little walk, seeing he hasn't been feeling too well I"m going to probably put his jacket on. we're around 5 degrees in the mornings now, it's getting pretty cold (sorry I don't know how to convert that)

| oh and when do ya'll use boots? I haven't bought him any yet, because we didn't go out in the snow much when he was a baby, but I've been told that because of large salt contents used by street plows, that getting some of those "PAWZ" boots may be a good idea to protect the pads of his feet. Thoughts?

| I've always heard that if YOU are cold, then the dogs are too So if you're wearing a jacket or coat, they need to as well. They don't have an undercoat like most doggies. The boots are a great idea for snow. It might take a while for them to adjust to wearing them, so be patient

| Well right now it's about 65 f in New York. I don't know how to convert this either, but so far I haven't used a sweater on my puppys. As for boots, I saw a dog walking in boots once and he/she was having a real hard time with them. I don't know if my dogs would go for wearing boots. but I agree when I'm cold I assume my dogs are cold also. |

| 5c = 41F so that's pretty cold! Pawz may be a good idea to protect from the road chemicals, although they won't necessarily keep the paws all that warm. They are a good entry level boot. I'd love to sell them to you, but you'll pay a fortune in shipping. I'm certain you can buy Pawz locally & encourage you to do so.

| We're in Florida, but still gets a little chilly! lol I put on sweaters when I see them shivering. Ally gets cold easy, so she is usually the first in the family to play dress-up. She even gets cold before I do. I would love to see pics of your baby all dressed up in jacket and boots. So cute! |

| Thats interesting, yeah I knew roughly the conversion, I think freezing point is 35F isn't it? Well that's 0C for us. Yeah I asked the vet when I was talking to her about something else, she said it should be good until November, but personally I think my little guy (whose only 3lbs) will freeze before then, maybe I'm just looking for an excuse to go buy stuff. Oh and a note, yes I can get Pawz up here, and zillions of really fancy jackets. lol ..

I really do like the four legged joggers though. Seriously keep them warm. They cover their tummies and their legs stay warm.

| I've never heard of those... I'll have to look around, I know Bark & Fitz said they were getting new stock in soon for winter so I'll have to have a look and see. Also does anyone have any tips on how to keep their hair nice when it's long, and you're constantly putting harnesses and jackets on them?

| Yes, I suppose. You don't know what cold is! I just know I don't want another winter like we had last year. Snow from Christmas Eve for months!
