| Just on TV news-dognapping On CBS news, they just said that there is an increase in dognapping. The most dognapped dogs are Yorkies, Pomeranians, Beagles. Please be careful with your babies, don't leave them unattended in the yard or anywhere!! |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Between the dognappers, coyotes, and birds of prey, I don't think I will ever let Tallulah or her (crossed-fingers) future sister(s) outside the house unattended. And stealing or harming pets should be treated as much more than an ordinary property theft. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Thanks for the info. I am to the point where I only let 2 of them out at a time so I can grab them if something or somebody approaches. I could never gather all 4 up in a hurry.

| One of my biggest fears is if someone should break in the house. I have an alarm system but that won't stop anyone from scooping Brandi right up and taking her. Next May, I am going to Egypt and my stepmom will be taking care of Brandi and Zoey. She is retire but she leads a very active life and she doesn't have alarm system but I am not to worried because most of the places she goes, she can take Brandi with her. |

| Thank you for sharing this. I never leave my two outside without being outside with them. I would be devastated if someone were to steal or harm either of my two "babies". |

IMO, stealing and harming pets should be the same as if it was a child. I don't think we have strict enough penalties for either scenario Peggy, Monkey & Maddie

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Thanks -- I really like the name too. I still don't have her -- I'm scheduled to pick her up in 50 hours and one minute. But I'm not excited at all (rolling eyes). |

| This is a great reminder for those who sometimes leave their dogs unattended. Calleigh is never out of my sight. It's difficult at times, but I can't take that chance. We have red tailed hawks in our area. I'm very careful when I'm out there with her. She is always on a leash.

| I never thought twice about letting the dogs out in the back yard because we have a 6 foot privacy fence now I go out with them. I don't worry about my Basset Hounds too much because I don't think anybody would want them they both weigh over 50 lbs each but I keep a close watch on my Shorkie and my Yorkie |

| No not at all! LOL -- Loved reading that, counting down the hours and minutes. I love that kind of anticipation and excitement. I know she will be one lucky pup!

Yorkie Talker | Rule # 1 : Yorkies are "inside the house" pets. They shouldnt be left in the yard as the gate watchdog like a big dog Rule # 2 : Put a bell on your yorkie's collar for a "ting-a-ling" sound as she moves about. Be alert to notice the presence or absence of the "ting-a-ling". At first, the sound may drive you crazy. But soon enough, you'll get used to it. Rule # 3 : Yorkies run so fast and are love to chase almost anything. Especially at parks and other open spaces, keep your yorkie leashed. You can improvise a long leash if you want him to have a wider run circumference. I was able to buy a 15 meter leash but it gets tangled up. I think 3 to 5 meters is enough to allow your pet to move around and you can still keep an eye on him. Rule # 4 : Keep the leash strapped to your wrist (not to the stroller or the parkbench or the tree, or anywhere else. It is important that it is attached to you so that you can feel the tugging all the time. Rule # 5 : Have a secret "come" word that only you and your yorkie should know. Try not to associate "Come", with whistling, or baiting with a treat. Use an "off" word like "dingdong" or "spoon", etc. This way, no matter how skillful the yorkie-nappers may get, and with so many "off" words in the world, it will take a while for him to decipher the code. |

| I just had a man knock on the door from ADT security systems. I told him "not interested" as my dogs were all barking and I said "see I have all kinds of security." Then he asked, "What security do you have to protect them when you are away?" I don't know why, but I really did not like the way he asked that. I am sure he just wanted me to think about buying but it was almost threatening sounding. What made it worse, I had just come home from the hospital and had left my keys in the lock on the outside of the door. Real secure-looking to people coming to the door, huh? I have to do better! Maybe I should think about a security system. But I am home so much of the time. Hmmmmm....
