YT 1000 Club Member | Hair Texture I have a question. Charlie's hair is so soft when he has a puppy cut but since I have started letting it grow out for winter, it is getting a wire feeling to it. It is only where it has turned grey on his back and neck. I have used several different shampoos and conditioners with no affect on it. Has anyone ever experienced this or have any advice what to use to make it soft? should I just leave him with a puppy cut all winter and buy more clothes? |

| First, how old is he? It probably just is what it is you know? I use Pet Silk with gobs of conditioner on my Bernie. He's a cottony coat. I have just recently started keeping him in a puppy cut, not because it is wirey, but because it is cottony, and mats like crazy. I keep his face and ears long. Pet Silk makes a leave in coat oil that really works well on Bernie. Here's the link to Pet Silk. Just look around and you will find the coat oil they make. It's good stuff. Pet Silk

YT 1000 Club Member | He will turn 2 in October. His hair mats really easily too. I had to cut mats off his belly last night. I will try the Pet Silk and see if it helps. I may have to keep him in a puppy cut too and just leave his face and ears long. Last edited by joann1166; 09-29-2010 at 07:07 AM. |

| Zoe is a Shorkie half Shih tsu and half Yorkie. She has very corse fur which surprised me because all Shih tsu and yorkies have soft fur I believe. |
