| Animal Hoarder Or Is It Something Else: I was just reading the story about 115 dogs, cats, ponys, goats that were rescued from a Doctor's home in Huntington New York. They said there were sick, starving, and dead animals. They were fighting over what water was left for them. I got totally sick. I can't imagine anybody doing that to animals especially a doctor. Now he and his wife are under arrest for countless animal neglet and abuse felonies. When I saw those poor animals I wanted to go to his home and torch it with him and his wife inside. People like that don't deserve to live. He was on the news saying that he wont make any comment on advice from his lawyer. Any lawyer who would defend a person like that should be shot also. He deserves to rot in jail with a bunch of hungry rats nibbling at his feet. I hope him and his wife die a horrible agonizing death. Sorry I had to vent. |

| That is sickening! Is this the story? On September 1st, a fire alarm went off at a property in West Hills, Long Island (NY). However, when authorities arrived at the residence, they discovered no fire. Instead, they found 115 dogs and other animals suffering from malnutrition, according to the Long Island Press. Firefighters responded to the alarm at approximately 11 a.m., where they discovered the abused animals, including a pony, three goats, one cat, and dozens of dogs. Roy Gross, Chief of the Suffolk SPCA, claimed that the ammonia from the urine in the home could have triggered the alarm. In addition to the animals seized from the home, the remains of dogs who had perished there were also evident in the bathtub and kitchen sink. The owners of the animals, Michael and Marilyn Gladstein, were arrested by SPCA detectives later that day and charged with a count of felony cruelty. “There is no excuse for this [abuse] and it will not be tolerated,” Gross told the news provider. The 115 dogs who were rescued are recovering speedily and the Gladsteins will likely face other charges for animal cruelty. The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals states that signs of animal abuse can be found in a pet’s physical appearance or behavior. Those who believe they have witnessed acts of cruelty should immediately report the case to the local authorities. The 115 dogs, most of which were crossbreeds of Pomeranian, Chihuaha and Yorkshire Terriers, are being distributed to numerous area shelters to be put up for adoption. Suffolk SPCA officials said each dog is undergoing thorough screenings to ensure they find the most suitable homes. Huntington Town Supervisor Frank Petrone added that town officials are considering waiving traditional adoption fees for the animals. SPCA: Long Island Couple Had Over 100 Dogs | New York

| I seriously don't know what goes through a human beings mind to allow this to happen, you have to be mentally ill, at least you would think so. I feel sick to my stomach when I hear these stories, I can't imagine the suffering of all those animals, I hope the man and his wife pay dearly for what they did to them.

| Gross! People amaze me! I have been house/cat sitting for my boyfriend's daughter's friend that lives up the street from us....let me tell you, I don't think anyone, animal, thing, or monster should be aloud to live in this house...they have 10 cats INSIDE, and 2 cats OUTSIDE! it reeks of cat urine and just nasty in the house! I'm not sure if they would be considered a hoarder!?
