| puppies soon! I had Daisy xrayed today! She is expecting 4 furbabies. She is due Saturday...we have our fingers crossed for a save, short whelp. Felicity's babies are doing well they are 9 days old. The puggy boy is 8 1/4oz, the girls are 7oz each! they are growing quickly and should open there eyes soon enough. This is so exciting for us to have 2 litters at the same time. Hopefully i can make some great connections here on YT for their forever homes. I am so picky and will hate to let them go. But for now Im going to enjoy every minute of these little fur puffs! Melissa |

| Isn't Daisy the one you got from a really bad breeder? That you didn't even think/know if she is pure Yorkie? And the sire was from a puppy mill too? Sorry, but I'm having trouble grasping why you would breed them with that being the case... |

I just don't understand breeding dogs that came from the breeders/brokers they were purchased from.

| So what do you breed for? Are these AKC registered? Have you had them DNA tested etc etc etc???? Oh, and I am not a breeder.

What does breeding for money have to do with breeding dogs that came from puppy mills, unregistered, with a background you have no information on?

What is your motivation for breeding? Quote:
If you aren't even sure if one of them is a full blooded Yorkie and you never received papers on. If you purchased a male that was sick for quite awhile after you purchased him. Why wouldn't you make them wonderful pets? Why would you want to breed knowing the breeders they came from? If you want to be a breeder, again what is your motivation? If it's not for money and it's for the betterment of the breed, wouldn't you want to breed with the best representation of the breed? By your own admission that isn't what you got! If you are well off, then why did you buy from the places you did? You said in a previous post that you know a YTCA breeder, but it's hard to get puppies for full registration. Why wouldn't the YTCA breeder you know sell you puppies? It should be hard, but instead of buying the best of the breed since it's hard, you buy from unethical breeders, so you can breed? Why?

"oooh ooh, oooh oooh!!" (in my best arnold horseshack voice ) I can answer that question...... FOR MONEY!!! As is evident here: "exciting for us to have 2 litters at the same time. Hopefully i can make some great connections here on YT for their forever homes."

Prospective owners look for health guarantees. They want to know the pedigrees. They want to know all about the dam and the sire.

We are constantly trying to help and educate buyers on what to look for in a breeder and informed buyers are concerned about these issues and have a right to know this information!

you have absolutely no idea what these pups history is. A "vet checked healthy" pup is completely different than knowing the entire family history health of the parents...and the parent's parent's...etc. Many disorders show up later in life...or in future litters....

| also...I am not a breeder...but my guy is a re-homed pup who the original owners said came from a "good breeder." he has LP and extreme bow legs in the front. I am sure the breeder had their dogs vet checked to good health...yet they are producing puppies that are going to cost the owners a lot of money and worse yet...cause the pups a lot of pain and suffering in the long run.... |
