| My big bad guard dog So hubby and I are sitting here .... I'm on the computer and he is watching TV. Someone rings the front doorbell, and we are in the back of the house, at least 45 feet from the front door. Jezebel is a very quiet girl, the only time she ever barks is when someone rings the front doorbell, or knocks on the door. She doesn't even bark when the landscapers cut our grass, she just sits at the window and calmly watches them. She was sitting on the couch when the doorbell rang, and she let loose, but never left the couch so she was pretty far away from the front door. When she barks, it is VERY loud and VERY deep, not high pitched at all. She sounds like a MUCH bigger dog. It is really, REALLY loud! We go to the front door, and nobody is there. We walk out and look around and can't find anybody, and that is very strange. A minute later, I decided to go out again and look around the corners of the house. (I am holding Jezebel). As I am getting ready to go back into the house, I see a door-to-door salesman across the street, so I went to get hubby. He came out and asked the guy if he had rung the doorbell. The guy said yes, but that he heard the dog and ran! Meanwhile, there I am holding my Yorkie ..... It was all I could do to get back into the house before I started laughing. Her Dad told her that she was a good girl and gave her a treat. That's my girl, my big, bad Yorkzilla. She works better than a "no solicitation" sign!

| Haha, great story! My little guy hates the sound of the doorbell too - he barks nonstop when he hears it ring!

| I just can't believe the loud, deep sound that comes out of this dog's mouth, she rarely barks so when she does it, it shocks me every time. Best security alarm ever!

| Gatsby only barks when the track team come by its so funny because this group of 30 teen age boys cross the street to keep away from my house and they can see Gatsby in the picture window in my dining room

| Youre lucky it's a deep bark, George's is so loud and shrill if someone comes to the gate, a totally different bark to normal, I never discourage him, even though it hurts our ears, great to have a guard dog and it's surprising how many people are weary of small dogs. At least you wont have trouble with unwanted callers.
