Help!!! 5 month old is marking his territory everywhere!! HELP!! We have a 5 month old yorkie puppy (born March15th) that was doing great going on the pee pads in our home. The worst accident he had was that his front paws were on the pads, but his back ones would not be and he wouldn't quite hit the pads, but he did always go to them to do his business. Then it seems like overnight, he began peeing everywhere! He is now even going on our couch which he has NEVER done before. I contacted the vet & was told that around this time they begin to "mark their territory" and that he should be neutered. We don't plan on breeding him so that is not a big deal. My quesiton is will that work? Has anyone else had this problem and can you offer me any advice? This is the 1st puppy we have had so this all new to us. My children would be heartbroken if we had to get rid of "Bubba". Can someone please advise?!?

i rescued a 2 year old breeder dog in july, he lived in sub standard conditions in my opion, he wasnt fixed when I got him, he marked everywhere, and he also peed in my shower, i made belly bands for him about 30 of them,, but since he was fixed he has not marked one time, I have taight him to use the pee pee pads instead of the shower and he is doing super, he is only 3.5 pounds so his pee pee isnt that big but he wont go on a pad more than 1 time but he always goes on the tile not the carpet, I dont know how big your little guy is but if you need some belly bands i have plenty i would be happy to mail you a few to try before he gets fixed, and i made mine with the dry weave fabric on the inside like a pocket so the pad goes in the pocket and they dont stay wet.

Wow that would be great! He is about 4 pounds now and is not expected to get any bigger than 5. I am willing to try anything to get him to stop marking everywhere.

"fixed" the problem We just got my guy fixed over a week ago and he is already showing great improvement. He is more loving and happier. Our vet would not neuter before 6 months. All is well now.
