| My Baby Passed I just found this sight and wondered if anyone has ever gone thru the grief of losing their little one. Prissy, my baby, passed away almost a month ago and I still feel her loss so deeply. She gave us so much joy and happiness. She was such a huge part of our lives. I miss her so much everyday. I have hope that time will help us heal. I guess I just wanted to know others that love Yorkies. |

| Hello Linda, and Welcome to Yorkie Talk (YT) I am so sorry to hear about Prissy. I have not lost a yorkie, but have lost a precious lttle cocker spaniel named Sam. I have spent many tears since his passing, but since I got Bonnie, I haven't cried once. Not that Bonnie took his place, but that she keeps me so darn busy that I don't have time to dwell on Sam's passing. I still think about him, but try to think of all the good times. Best of luck, Oh yea, there is another thread for posting about your precious pup's passing too- where other yorkie mommies are grieving. Last edited by Sweetlips6; 08-20-2010 at 03:37 PM. |

Here you have come to the right place, we all love our Yorkies. There is another forum on here for the loss of a beloved dog. You may want to either post there or just read the threads/postings. Know that many of us have felt the deep pain of losing a beloved. And yes over time, you will heal. For now rest assured that there are many who will reach out to you in your pain. Be welcome, grieve as you will, share with us we will listen.

| I'm 50 years old and I've had dogs all my life, since I was a little boy. I've outlived all of them, and you don't get used to losing them. You pretty much have to accept that as a human you'll probably outlive your canine companions. It's hard, though. I've got my first Yorkie now, and I'm hoping for a long relationship with him. |

| I'm so sorry for the loss of your little girl. It is normal to grieve the loss of a beloved family member, which she was. I grieved for a long time over the loss of my first dog of my very own - my maltese Casper. Please take good care of yourself during this time and know that others share what you are feeling now.

| I'm so sorry for your loss. It is so hard to lose a one of our babies. It never gets easier, either. I still have moments when I think about one of the fur babies I've lost and feel the grief as acutely as ever. I guess I just think about the loss of them less often as time goes on. We are truly blessed for every single minute with our wonderful babies.

| I came her for the very same reason. Lexi's death broke my heart and destroyed my love's heart. It was non stop crying.. It hurts but we will all heal with time.. You'll remember them always and the love will always linger around you. |

| Hi and Welcome to YT... So sorry for the loss of your sweet baby... I can never 'get over' a loss of a precious one. The only thing that ever takes the edge off the pain in my heart is getting another Yorkie, because they keep you 'in the now' and help you heal. I tried to go for almost two years after the loss of my first... saddest two years of my life. I had two other dogs at the time, but I had to get another Yorkie. And I was so glad I did. I realized it is impossible for me not to smile everyday when there's a Yorkie in my house, no matter what else is going on. Can't 'live' without them!

| I'm so sorry you lost your little one. I too have lost one and know what you're going through. It gets better with time, but a piece of your heart is always with them. |
