| We Thought That We'd Found Coty Last Night Some neighbors in the adjacent subdivision to ours (where Coty was last seen) called us last night about a little Yorkie that they found and thought could possibly be Coty. Long story short, this dog was the spitting image of my lost baby except he had a really bad haircut, was a little matted & dirty and didn't really answer to "Coty". Imagine my excitement to think we had found our dog almost 6 months after he had escaped. I called my husband and oldest son to come inside and look at the dog and my husband held the dog and said, "Yep, this is Coty". I asked the neighbors if the dog had been neutered when I first got there and they said "yes". My husband opened the dog's mouth and looked at his teeth and said, I really think this is our dog. Anyway, on second glance my husband held the dog up at a different angle and yep...I saw them...two little "peanuts". The dog had NOT been neutered and couldn't possibly be our boy. Plus, even though it has been 5 months, he just didn't "recognize" us like I'd think a dog reunited with its owner would. So, I was melancholy, almost depressed, all night and couldn't sleep. I've only cried once since Coty's been gone and that was the day I returned from out of town and had to tell his groomer. Other than that, I've been on a mission to just find him. We have a new puppy Jagger and I love him, but everytime I looked at him last night, I'd think of Coty. We are getting another brother for Jagger on November 9th, I'm thinking of naming him Jett, but I am so sad today. To top it all off, today is Coty's 6th birthday. Please pray for me. I am so deeply hurting today. I know that you all can empathize with me. Thxs. for letting me vent for way too long.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | How heartbreaking....that must have been so rough to feel the high...then the low...Poor Coty. We can just pray he is happy somewhere and someone had to have him because he was so cute...try to think of him in a good place and don't let your mind go into overtime - I know...too late for that right ? BIG hugs to you ...I can't imagine how you must miss and worry about him |

Donating YT 7000 Club Member | Oh I'm so sorry. That must have been awful. There's still hope, I'm sure Coty's being spoiled rotten by someone who found him! How upsetting to think you've found him. Try not to let yourself get too upset, i know that sounds impossible, but just remember that there's always a hope of finding Coty.

| Oh, I am so sorry to hear that your hopes were dashed. Wouldn't it have been wonderful if it had been Coty? What will your neighbors do with this little guy? Is there any possibility that you might be able to adopt this boy if his owner does not show up? |

| In the time that he's been gone, we've had to "identify" 6 lost Yorkies -- all of which weren't Coty, but NEVER did one look so much like him that even I, his mama, couldn't tell if it was him or not. If that dog had been neutered, he'd be at my house right now being called Coty. The neighbors that found the dog were going to take him to the vet today and to see if anyone has "lost" a Yorkie. I posted all of his info on the yahoo group message board for both neighborhoods. They are expecting a new baby in about 4 weeks and said that they didn't want the dog. I told them that I'd be interested in him if they didn't hear back from the owner, and to be extremely careful about making anyone trying to claim him, be very specific about the dog. If no one claims him, I would just have 4 dogs -- that would be the greatest for me. The little fellow started whining and of course, I was just sick to leave him behind.

| I am so sorry to hear about this. It must have been hard to have to identify 6 different Yorkies in hope of it being Cody each time. Is Cody microchipped? That way for SURE you can find out if it indeed is him.

The good news is that we've found the dog's owner. His name is Sunny and she said that my description of a really "bad haircut" was the clincher for her. She said that she'd botched him last week. She is on her way to be reunited with her little one. I also gave her the name of my groomer
