| Opinion Needed I am planning to fly back to The Netherlands to see my family for Christmas and New Years. I keep going back and forth if I should take Trixie along. I know it's a long trip for her, it's a hassle and it's expensive to take her. But I would feel really bad leaving her here. And it would be a hassle too because I'd have to find somebody to take care of her, which will be hard because a lot of people are gone for the holidays. I don't want to board her!!! Any opinions?

| She's 7 months and 5,5 lbs. She has traveled long distances by car, 4-5 hours. And is doing fine with that. But we stopped every two hours to let her out. So a 8 hour flight will be a little different. I have gathered all the information about what paperwork I need, I have contacted the Dutch Consulate General about the rules etc.

| This is a tough one! We have such a fabulous boarding kennel here, that I would board her rather than take her such a long flight. She won't be able to "hold it" for 8 hours or more will she? On the other hand, if you are going to be gone longer than a week, I'd consider taking her on the plane. IMO the best thing for her would be to find a trusted friend to keep her.

look very hard for a home with a friend or I'd pay one of the vet techs( that work part time) at your vet's office to take her into their home or get ideas from them. They are the best.

I am planning on being gone for two weeks. If it was only for a few days, I would leave her here for sure (which I am doing over Thanksgiving weekend). but two weeks... I think though that I want to take her more for myself than for her best interest.

| Perhaps someone from YorkieTalk that lives near you would be willing to 'babysit' ? Try a Vet Tech part time worker ? Other then those, I don't know ????? |
