| Ahh so excited!! Hiya everyone. I drove the hour journey to visit Poppy today. She has grown loads in the last 12 days its amazing ! She has a little fat bum lol and such a cute little face. I just wanted to take her home with me tonight... but only 1more week to go. Even tho i aint spent more then 90mins altogether with her i still feel so much love for her that i actually miss her right now, is that daft? I gave the breeder a little blanket to put in with the pups so when i take her home on the first night Poppy will still have the comforting smell of her mummy, brother and sisters. I think i have everything in place ready for when she arrives home on Sunday. Her bed is all made up in her play pen in the livingroom. I have a huge pink bucket full of toys, treats, blankets, bows, puppypads etc for her. I even bought a book called ''The Perfect Puppy'' . Her food and water bowls are empty all really and waiting to be filled up when she arrives home. I have bought some lactol milk just incase she wanted some when she arrives home. I have booked in her appointment at the vets for 8.30am on Monday morning (the day after she arrives). I have an appointment at 'pets at home' with the nuticianist to help me decide what would be the best food for her. I have also been looking at pet insurance and i think petplan looks a good bet... but if anyone from the uk has any good pet insurance please let me know. Does anyone know where i can get nuti-cal from in England, does the pet shops sell it because i have not seen it over here in England? I have put the money to pay for little Poppy away to one side so all i am waiting for is for her to arrive home next week Is there anything else i need to do before she arrives? I am so excited i think i just might burst hehe!! Really REALLY excited i just cant WAIT

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | How wonderfull your excitement leaps through the page. Is the breeder going to send her home with some of the food she is currently eatting? Might be a good idea. Have you bought a carrier for her? ie a crate so when you take her to the vets she has a warm snuggy safe place to wait for her appt? Tiny harness? Nutrical not sure what the name is in England. But corn syrup or maple syrup will do in a pinch, just try after giving to give some long acting carbs and or proteins. It sounds like you've done a bang up job on preparing for your wee one. Will you be able to be home for her in her first few days? Help her to settle in? Once again we await the pics with glee. Enjoy your wee one, they are so precious especially when pups!

Yes i have the first 2days off work so she can settle in while i am around. I work 2mins from where i live so even when i am at work i will be popping back throughout the day to make sure she is ok. Then i will be home on my lunch hour and when i finish my lunch hour my bf who also works 2mins away will be coming home on his lunch hour so she wont be alone for long hehe! | You asked about the nutrical or syrup. These small dogs sometimes have a problem with hypoglycemia. (google it) They need a bit of sugar boost when this happens. Giving them some nutrical or syrup helps. One time I needed it for a pup I had and I didn't have any syrup or nturical. I used peach jelly and it worked. I got some nutrical on my next trip to the vet. |
