| Ollie....my Yorkie! ......has THE most digusting breath I have ever smelled! Honestly, it smells like 1000 dead carp broiling in 40 degree heat on a dock! I am NOT kidding! He sleeps on my pillow (of course) and sometimes if I get a whiff, I actually feel nauseated! He 'licks' the air! Ugh....I am sure it is just his own hair in his mouth, but he will do it for a few minutes as he is settling down for the night. Blechhhhh! I have never brushed his teeth before. Do you think that might help? From what he will let me see, he seems to have some tartar build up in there. Between his nasty breath and his constant 'marking' peeing on everything I am gettiing fed uppppp! Suggestions? Lisa |

| How old is Ollie? If he is teething the smell is from him losing his puppy teeth but if he has all of his adult teeth in then I would suggest a trip to the vet or a canine dentist to make sure there is no infection going on in his mouth. Brushing is a good start though. As for the marking...is he neutered? You can use belly bands...they won't stop him from lifting his leg but it will stop him from being able to mark your house. If you aren't going to breed him and he isn't neutered already you might think about having that done and the marking may well stop...it did with Peanut and he was 2 when he got neutered. Don't give up on him...it sounds like a couple of simple changes will make you both happier. Last edited by my2boyz; 07-29-2010 at 05:04 PM. |

| Brush his teeth and get him neutered! Take him to the vet and get him a cleaning, then brush his teeth. Just like humans...if you don't brush...your going to be stanky Getting him neutered will most likely stop the marking.
