| Update - My baby was attacked Hi I need to update everyone on the attack and sad death of my big man, Stanley Stud Muffin. For everyone that doesn't already know he was attacked on his own doorstep and killed outright by a German Shepherd. The owner of the GS said that he would pay any costs arising from this (what a laugh that is). I sent the bill £113.00 round on the 1st of July to his property (my son took it) and he told my son that his dog had bruised ribs (I kicked his dog to make it let go of Stanley) and had a bill of his own. Since then he has been no-where near to either pay the bill or even apologise, I have now sent him a recorded delivery letter informing him that I intend to take him to court and that if this happens I will claim for the original bill also the cost of Stanley and pain and suffering. He will now have recieved this letter and I have not heard anything so tomorrow I am going to my local magistrates court to file the papers that I need to follow it through. I know that no amount of money will ever make this right but I intend to fight for my big man to the very end. I will keep everyone updated and can I just say what a fantastic support you have all been, I keep having weepy days and I miss him so much, but you have all been brilliant xxx

| Awwww I am so deeply sorry for your loss! I know this must be such a rough time for you and for you have to re-live it all by going to court with this jerk is absolutely heart wrenching I pray for a good outcome although like you said no amount of money will replace your beloved Studmuffin....my heart goes out to you.

| I am so glad you finally took this step. In my very honest opinion, i would never have given this guy a chance to pay just vet expenses. He needs to give you another dog, reimburse your vet expenses, and if your dog was neutered, pay for that on the new pup as well, and if your dog had attended any classes... add that to the expenses, Plus pain and suffering! It is fair, it was not an accident, his dog came and attacked you at your door steps. I doubt you are going to get more than the cost of a new pup and the vet bills, but you need to ask for more to get at least some ! Good luck ! XOXO

| I am so sorry that you haven't had any closure. Your neighbor needs to pay for not having control of his dog. ~Joanne~

| That is just so wrong. I would feel terrible if my dog hurt another dog IN HIS OWN YARD! I would definitely take them to court; they should be falling all over themselves to at least pay the Vet bill. I remember one time when I walked my little maltese and another dog came running out of his house and latched onto Casper's neck. We had to pry them apart. I took him to the Vet and he was fine other than some bruising; but the lady came to my house ~ cried ~ gave me a hug ~ and offered to pay for everything. She was sooo nice and felt so bad, I never sent her any bill. Your neighbor could learn a lesson from her.

| When this happened to my little guy, Harley, in Dec 2008, our animal control officer took over. She found the owner of the dog, served him papers and took him to court. He eventually agreed to pay my vet bills, the cost of my dog and he is under probation and barred from owning a dog for 2 years. No, it doesn't bring my baby back, but at least he had to undergo some suffering as well. Keep at it, he does not deserve to be able to just walk away from this. |

| Take him to court. His German Shepherd killed your dog- than did not even pay the vet bill, and his excuse was you kicked his dog in the ribs trying to save your dog's life? I am so sorry for your loss, that german shepherd should be put down and his owner should be sewed.

| Stanley's death was a tragedy that didn't need to happen had the owner of the GS been more responsible. He doesn't even sound as though he is taking responsibility for what his dog did, so, IMO, you should take him to court and may him pay for as much as you can get. He might learn a lesson and another dog won't have to suffer any pain, or worse, death, because this guy wasn't a responsible pet owner. I am so sorry for your loss.

| This is so sad to read and I'm sorry for your loss . I can't believe that this person has the nerve to run from the very small bill you sent him (in relation to what actually happened) and to then try to send YOU a bill?!?! He sounds like a real piece of work ! I'm glad that you are taking him to court, this is such a sad story and he should be ashamed of himself! |

| I am so sorry for your loss. What a horror that must have been for you. I agree with taking him to court. He is heartless. I will say a prayer for you.
