| In our newspaper today - Coyotes Wow I never heard of them around my area but I guess they are coming down more South in Ontario! I live just on the outside of the city. It's a small neighborhood just on the edge of the county. We have lots of open fields/farm land on the outside of our neighborhood. As well as a highway. It's so scary to think that they are around. It said in the paper not too far from my house, probably 10-15 min drive out more into the county a woman's pomeranian went missing after she heard it yelping in the yard after letting her out at night and the dog was gone! She said she hears the coyotes at night howling. I've got neighbors on all sides of my fence and we have a fenced in yard. Is there anything I can do to protect my yard? I don't let my babies out at night alone ever but still I don't know what I'd do if I found one in my yard |

| Where I live in Tennessee we have to not only worry about the coyotes but owl and hawks as well. They are more than capable of carrying off small pets and do fairly often. Even cats!

| Just last week a family's miniature schnauzer was dragged off by what Animal Control was saying a Florida panther. They are saying it might be a coyote now. I live in south Mississippi not even a mile from the beach and the attack happened maybe less than 10 miles from my home. Needless to day I don't walk Sakura at night anymore even if we have a fenced in yard. |

| Very very scary Never had this problem before and for some reason the coyotes are moving more south. Said there is alot of them and they have no way to control them. It also said they like to eat cats. My two are smaller then a cat. We've been having more hawks coming too. I don't know what is going on! |

| My Gigio was taken by a coyote. I live in Castle Rock Co with houses all around me two elementary schools near buy. So it can happen any where. I have two new yorkies but i only take them out with my husband in the front yard on very short leash, they are pee pad trained (LOL). I do have a mini doxie that only goes outside on a leash. A coyote can jump a 6 foot fence. They also have a 10 mile radius from there den. Never let your yorkies outside alone or put them on a leash, always be outside with them, maybe have a dog run with a cover. Have an air horn, whistle, air gun or bebe gun in hand. Maybe even have a baseball bat or golf club near buy too. One more thing is to get a spiked collar, coyotes will go for the neck. Just a couple of things I do. LOL

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | We lost a cat to coyotes in San Diego. They get quite brave and roam through subdivisions without a thought. I haven't seen any out here in GA, but we do have foxes, possums, hawks and eagles that can pose a threat. Oh, and we now have black bears in our sub division, too.

| We have coyotes in our area and have lost cats to them when I was a child. I do not allow my cats to go outside (ever!) and always go outside with my yorkies.

I've seen a coyote run through my neighborhood and my neighbors across the street said they use to see one on a regular basis come through the neighborhood. I've also seen coyotes, including one in front of my subdivision, that were hit by cars. They are everywhere! But I haven't seen any bears around here.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Scary. Last week we were sitting at the kitchen table and I see out the sliding glass door a coyote run by and it was like 5pm. I live in a sub division and back up to a school parking lot so I didn't expect to see coyotes so close. I won't let all of mine out together anymore unless someone is out with me. I could never get all 4 back in if they saw a coyote.
