| I am very new here and I just got 15 weeks old Yorkiepoo and his hair is kinda long. I am too chicken to cut his hair on face and paws. Is there a grooming kit for me to learn how to do that? I do not want to take him to a groomer because I have heard a lot of bad reviews. I hate to take a risk for my Peanut. Any suggestion? Cynthia Michener

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Welcome. I use to take mine to a groomer but with having 4 it was to expensive. I learned how just by trial and error. I found the key is to invest in good brushes and scissors. I use Chris Christansen gold series 20mm pin brush and butter comb. I use a blunt ended scissors by their face so I can't accidently cut them. A slicker brush is also good if they have a thicker cottony coat. It's best to start slow getting them use to being brushed and reward with a little treat afterwards. Good luck.

| Welcome to YT! I know of some grooming places that let you watch while they groom them, I've been told to never take them to a place where there are no windows seeing in. My pup is too young to go to the groomers yet and I eventually want to take him but I'm paranoid as well! Good luck with your new yorkiepoo!!

Thor's Human Donating Member | Welcome! If you check out yahoo, you should see ratings for different groomers in your area. I'm sure some are better than others. For myself, I have a child's pair of bluntnosed scissors that I use for touch ups. They aren't sharp, so I don't work about poking my sweetie in the eyes.
