Bridget needs teeth pulled Found out last night that Bridget needs 3 teeth extracted. I am freaking out! I took her to the vet for her shots and a check-up before we move and told him that she hadn’t been eating well and was kind of mopey. I attributed this to the stress of getting ready to move and was just trying to give her as much love and attention as I can. Well, the vet looked at her teeth and said that she has 1 baby one that hasn’t come out that needs to go and two that are bad. I couldn’t believe it! So we started her on an antibiotic and she goes in to have them extracted next week. She had a check up when I adopted her in June and all the vet said was that we needed to stay on top of teeth brushing – which I do every day or so. I feel like such a bad mommy for not noticing this earlier. The poor thing has been in pain! My heart is just breaking for her. Has anyone experienced this? Should I be expecting any reactions from the antibiotic? Is there anything I can do to ease her pain? The surgery isn’t till Tuesday. Any advice would be most appreciated.

My Buddy had 3 teeth removed in July and did just great. I was a wreck and everything turned out just fine. I think we take it harder than they do. Tauni

Snoodles had 5 teeth removed because they never came out and she had double teeth. She did fine! They are tougher then we think! It is a good jthing that they are giving her antibiotics before. Don't want infection going through her body! Good LUck! Pat

Poor Bridget, Jasmine has three baby teeth that need pulling also. She really hates to have her teeth brushed, actually she hates for you to do anything except give her treats, and play with her.

I'm sorry your baby isn't feeling well. It is not unusual for Yorkies to retain baby teeth. My sweet little Peppy had 14 extracted. I was very nervous, as Peppy is my little 3 lber. The extraction(s) took right at an hour and he did GREAT!! Good luck!

Keeley needs 4 teeth pulled. All of his sharp pointy ones are doubles. They came in like 2-3 weeks after he got neutered, I wish they'd have been able to do both of them at the same time.

Poor Dublin had 8 baby teeth pulled when he was neutered and he barely skipped a beat! (The worst part is I only thought he had 3 because he wouldn't let me see in the back of his mouth!)
