I normally dont take bella to stores or anything like that because Im scared that someone tell me something of bringing dog besides service dogs. So.. I would like to know if you take them everywhere.. or if you have had problems going to certain stores or places.... |

| I really don't take her anywhere other than Petsmart. One time we took her into Party City and they told us we had to leave with her. I don't really want to deal with that stuff.

| Well other then Petsmart I take them to Lowe's but I don't let them on the floor. Reggie loves to ride in the cart and loves all the attention he gets.

| Pretty much Petsmart & Moochie & Co. in the mall. Otherwise it's outdoor events!

| You can google pet friendly locations. A lot depends on what part of the country. There are places in Colorado and California that have pet friendly malls. Most places that have a downtown with any outdoor seating will allow your dog with you outside. The tide is turning and a lot more stores that do not have food are allowing small dogs. I would just make a list of the stores that you would like to visit and call those stores directly. It's more the individual store not the chain. Ask them if they allow a dog in a carrier and if they say yes, be sure to get the name of the person that tells you that. I've heard of some Old Navy, Barnes & Noble, etc... but it varies store to store, manager to manager. Be sure to get the name of the person giving you the okay and if you encounter resistance you can tell them you got permission up front. Retailers are slowly starting to realize that consumers with the disposable income to pamper a pooch and put it in a $200 bag, just might spend a little cash in their store, if they are allowed in.... if they say no, you might want to remind them of that!

| I've been in a Barnes and Noble and Agway....never have had a problem...my little guy doesn't make any kind of noise inside his carrier. I would never bring him into any place that sells food or a restaurant. |

| I've brought mine into lots of small (locally owned) shops. I put him in one of my big purses and most of the time he just takes a nap and no one even knows he's there. Whenever he does stick his head out, I've had people ask if he's real, haha, and employees want to pet him but I've never been told to leave. I think it makes a difference if it's a big national chain or a smaller shop. I live in a small town and have been allowed to take him inside restaurants, as long as he stays in my purse. |

| I brought Pearl & Beau (not Yorkies) to the cable place. It was so hot on that day & none of employees said anything to me. I had them in my arms, though. Pearl is 15 lbs and Beau is 8 lbs so I had to sit down while waiting. A lot of kids came to pet them. My bff took Blue to Costco (I posted the picture in the "Dog Purse & Non dog purse" thread). I'm surprised no one told her to leave. I don't like to have someone to tell me to leave. My sister took her Chih (in her purse) to Kirkland's. No one has said anything about it. I ordered the dog carrier purse, I will see if I have guts to take Blue to places. |

| It all depends on the store and its employees. Miloh has gone with me to several places, such as Ross, Marshall's, Amoeba, Sears, and on a quick errand to CVS. I've never been told he can't go in, he usually gets a lot of attention. I tend to limit his entry to places that have food though. Last edited by e_gar; 07-12-2010 at 08:39 AM. |

I was just introduced to the Lazy Dog Cafe. Had a great meal in the outside eating area with other humans and dogs. Even a black lab sat with us, it was great!

| I was just at the Coolsprings Galleria and had no trouble whatsoever. A great way to get Wolfie socialized and I am holding him the entire time. |

| Hammer has only been to Target (because i work there). My boss insists I bring him in every tuesday night. I would NOT recommend this at your local Target though I havent had the guts to take him anywhere else. His is hard to hide and my doggie carrier bag gets heavy rather quickly. |
