| Mya's spay is Friday Well, the time has come... miss Mya is being spayed and having at least one baby tooth removed on Friday. I did not have to go through this with Oliver, as he was fixed while in rescue, thankfully. I'm very nervous. I'll be working that day just to keep myself busy. My little girl does not deal with pain well, so I'm concerned about her pain level. I bought some onesies at walmart and she went NUTS when I put it on her... She does not tolerate clothes at all, she goes insane. I should have ordered a soft-e collar. Seems she'll be wearing the uncomfortable cone quite a bit if she won't tolerate a t-shirt or onesie. Please keep her (and her nervous momma!) in your thoughts on Friday! I know it'll be fine and I'm glad it's going to be done soon as I feel this is our last hurdle with her (other than the ongoing potty training battle). Thanks!

| Good luck! I asked my vet to use a different method of suture* for Ziva-he used Glue! worked out fine, Ziva never touched it and it healed invisibly! She was groggy for the day and the 7 teeth removal was actually better -it took the pressure off her gums and you could hardly see where they took them out. I fed her soaked kibble for a day or two because she liked it and I wanted to make sure she had a full belly with the meds they gave her. *I had an awful time with my Wheaten she ripped out stitches and replacement staples- 3rd time they kept her hospitalized/confined/ medicated for two days. |

| Kasha gets spayed too Friday! I'll think good thoughts for both our babies! I have to get her a onsie too. What size did you get? My Scottish Terrier was spayed when she was 6, she had NEVER worn clothing in her life, but she was pretty out of it so she tolerated it & I'm sure that the cone would have been worse. I'm sure Mya will be the same. :-) Goodluck!

| Thanks for all the good thoughts and prayers.. I will be keeping Kobe and Kasha in my prayers too! Guess we aren't going through it alone! lol. The size for the onesie I bought was 3 months, but I should have gotten 6 months. Mya is really long and it barely fits. She's around 10 pounds so she's a bigger girl Definitely gonna mention the glue to my vet, see if that's an option! She LOVES to rip threads outta her toys, so I can just see her doing that to her stitches.. lol

| Sending prayers for your girl's safe surgery and speedy recovery. Hugs to you momma b/c I know how scary this is. I just had my girls spayed about a month ago. She will probably handle this much better than you will. lol Let us know when she gets home. |

| I will definitely be thinking about both of you. It won't be long and I'll be going through it myself with the little boy! Keep us posted!

| I love the laser surgery! Java, the Chih was the first pup that had it. The grrls before Java were spayed with the knife. I was very impressed how neat the incision was & the vet used the glue on her. She healed a lot quicker, too. Beau was neutered with the laser and he had dissolve sutures. He healed pretty fast. Blue was neutered by my best friend's vet and they used the knife on him and he's healing as to be expected. I did not use my vet because he wanted $250 for the castration, in total of almost $500 for everything. It was a lot of money for the 3.4 lbs puppy with cryptorchidism. I now know that i prefer to have a vet who does laser surgery. Of course, it costs more but whatever is best for my babies. It is normal to be nervous. You both are in my prayers & she's going to be okay. |

| My little Tilly was spayed yesterday and she's fine. She also had two baby canines removed and was microchipped. She has stitches and a dressing on her tummy, which they don't usually bother with. I'm guessing that it's because she's so close to the floor. She's also got an Elizabethan collar which she hates. She ate some chicken as soon as I got her home yesterday afternoon and has been drinking well. She's slept a lot (very wise) but does enjoy a little potter around. She's crated most of the time, though, as she's obviously feeling better today and was starting to get a bit silly. It's great to see her happier than she was yesterday, though, and I'm not at all concerned about her. We have to go back to the vets Sunday lunchtime for a check up. It's a relief to have it over and done with. Good luck with your little girl.
