| New baby is home...hasn't eaten or went potty yet. We brought the little one home around 3:30 est. It is now 9:30 est and she has drank water, ran around the yard with the kids, napped on all of our laps, met our Dane, etc. She has not gone pee or poo, and she threw up what little she ate. Anything I should do? (15 weeks old, 3.5 pounds)

| Get a tube of Nutri-Cal and give her about a pea size every 4 hours, and even if you have to broil a steak, get her to eating, and eating often. Once she's use to eating really well then you don't need to give her the Nutri-Cal.

| Okay, thanks for the info...only problem is, all the pet stores around here are closed! Should I try to find other stuff to feed her for the night until I can get the nutri-cal tomorrow?

| You could also use honey or maple syrup for the night, until you can get nutri-cal. Good luck!!

| Great! I have that! I did get her to eat a puppy milkbone type thing just a few min ago. I hope she keeps it down. Other than this she has acted fine all afternoon.

| Are you offering her the same food she was on from the breeder? You can give her a little boiled chicken finely diced, and some cottage cheese or a little plain yogurt. The first few days can be difficult as they are adjusting, but it is important to get food in her to avoid hypoglycemia.

| Congrats again on your new baby!! My little guy wouldn't eat at first either until I started feeding him his kibble by hand. He seemed to like that and found it fun I'm sure he'll get settled in soon!!

| Thanks everyone. She has been great so far. She still won't eat much...just a bite here or there. She is drinking water though. She went potty this morning...in the kitchen! LOL! Her urine looked fine, not dehydrated.

| Names are hard!!! My daughter named our great dane within an hour of getting her. This one is stumping me! Pepper Ann Josie - "Jo Jo" Abby Alice - "Allie" (They love Alice in Wonderland with Johnny Depp!) Desi - as in Lucy and Desi! LOL! Periwinkle - "Peri" (The kids love Phineaus and Ferb cartoon)
