Fear factor time frames? I was just browsing through posts and came across "fear factor time frames," in one of the comments. I've never heard this before and was wondering if someone can explain it to me. (I mean, I get a very general gist of it from the context, but it's not anything I've ever heard before. Thanks!

It's actually called "Fear Imprinting", where traumatic, painful or frightening events can have a lasting effect. This article explains it. You'll have to scroll down a few pages: http://www.peninsulaspca.com/docs/Pu...evelopment.pdf

Thanks! I never heard of it before. At least if it happens, I'll be more aware!

It's not about "it happening and being aware", but trying to avoid fearful or painful situations during the Fear Imprint Stages. For example, the first Fear Imprint Stage is between 8-11 weeks. If a puppy is exposed to the vacuum for the first time during this period, he might always be afraid of it.
