| My boyfriend stole my yorkie Dom stayed with us all weekend and Ginger is soooo attached to him. She thinks he’s so cool and follows him around the house, watching everything he does like a little sidekick – it’s like I don’t even exist when he’s there. She won’t even let me pick her up; she’ll jump back and run away so I can’t get her. Last night was the last straw; she didn’t even sleep with me. (She’ll usually comes to Mom when she’s tiered and done playing.) She was curled up with him all night. I know I’m being a crybaby but…I’ve spent all my time trying to form a bond with her, to have it gone over a WEEKEND. I like how much they love each other and want her to be happy and have fun but I feel…left out. He sees it and tries to make her mind me but…. I’m over reacting, I know, but I thought if anyone would understand it would be you guys. Anyone else ever gotten snubbed by your dog?

| Oh, I completely understand! My Maggie doesn't do it with my boyfriend so much, but more with my best guy friend, Brian. She thinks he's her boyfriend and wants nothing ot do with anyone when he's around. It's really cute and I'm over it. but still, I know how you feel!

| I read on a website ?. Ignore the pup for two days. I did it. She was paying my husband all the attention. I didn't look at her or talk to her. I didn't pet her even though she crawled in my lap. It was hard don't get me wrong. I only said what was necessary to her. She was used to sleeping in the bed with me but she slept in the kennel. It worked. Now I never let her enter a doorway ahead of me. I get my coffee fixed before she gets breakfast. I eat before she does. She treats me like I am top dog, even though she loves him.

| Awwww this is so sad and Im sorry you are feeling left out. Maybe you can find "alone" times with Ginger to bond? How about a car ride to the pet store to find some treats? I am sure Ginger adores you too!

| You guys are the best. Thank you for your suggestions. That’s so funny Carolina Girl, I was doing just that this morning, (I guess trying to get her back) but I felt so childish and pouty, plus it broke my heart to imagine her feeling unloved. But now that I know it works I’m going to keep it up! Lol Thanks!

Isn’t it funny to see these big ol’ men playing with these tiny little dogs? Dom is like, 6 foot and over 200 pounds and it’s just the sweetest thing to see him all into Ginger. He calls her “baby girl.”
