| he hardly plays. I have left him at home a for a couple of hours and he gets so excited to see me when i come back for about 2 minutes then its back to vegging out. he gets excited when i wake up in the morning. I almost feel like the people i bought him from did not treat him very well... the poor thing has fleas and is deathly afraid of people until he gets to know you i have to make an appt for a check up but i am wondering if this is something that can't wait. |

| i would say take him immediatly to the vet. a puppy that age should want to play almost constantly. I don't want to worry you, but rather just give advise. it may or may not be something serious. but it sounds like it shouldn't wait. Best of luck. |

| That is a lot of sleeping for a 7 month old. Medically he could be deficient in something, or something could be going on internally. If he is infested with fleas maybe they are draining him, and without enough blood, he doesnt have the energy to be active. I would get an appt with the vet and bring it up to him asap. Maybe you could initiate playing with him more, or give him more petting sessions or walks to keep him awake. His previous owners maybe didnt show him enough attention so he was left to keep himself entertained, so sleeping is what he did. Poor baby, I hope he is ok, Im glad he has a new home where he will be loved and properlly taken care of.

| At his age he should be up playing most of the day. I would take him in to be checked. I'm so glad he found a forever loving home!

| My four month old doesn't sleep like that. But then again by seven months they are starting to get set in their routine. Like most dogs, we go off to work, they sleep until we come home. But if he is sleeping a lot after you come home, you should seek a medical opinion. Good luck

| Oversleeping my Ceeby is twelve weeks old and sleeps all night. He takes about a two hour nap about noon and then another about six to eight then he is down for the night with his blanky over him by ten or ten thirty. I give him Nutracal first thing in the morning and about an hour before bedtime because he is so tiny and doesn't eat thru the night. I watch him carefully about being sleepy or lethargic because that is your first sign of hypoglycemia. i hope you let us know what your vet says. He really should be playing a lot more. |

| well just to give you all an update this morning I finally caved in and mixed some wet food with Caspers dry food (though he only ate around thedry food and ate the wet) I have come to another conclusion that when his previous owner told me what kind of "DRY" puppy food she fed him she was again lying... anyways let me get off that topic well he ate and is a bit more playful this morning though i am trying to get ready for work i am trying to play but i will be taking him to the vet this week! |

| That's a good idea (taking him to the vet)! My puppy is 7 months old and he is always bugging me to play. He runs amuck the whole house, we can't tire him out. |

| Personally, I think that you may just be fortunate. Dennis is my first male and he just does not want to nap, though he is getting a little better about just sitting on my lap while I am at the computer typing and such. However all my 3 girls were just Velcro babies, just content to be doing anything that I was. If we took a drive they snoozed at my side, If I watched TV they snoozed at my side, if we went bike riding they just looked. Always just content to be doing anything with me. Have you had him to a Vet? I would assume that she has all her shots, so she must have seen one, but certainly consult a Vet to rule out a health problem. Sue |
