| Petsmart has "classes". You get hired on as a bather and then work up to the classes. Here is a site with a list state by state with Grooming classes, they are located on the left hand side of the page :Pet-Grooming-School Listings in USA; Pet Grooming: Pet Grooming School, dog Grooming School, cat Grooming School, Business Opportunity: Franchise

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | i wouldn't go to a petsmart grooming school unless there was absolutely no other option. I went to Nash academy and its the best school to learn from. there are too Nash approved grooming salons in CA that offer nash training, and there are online courses you need to take. I had to do online courses and then on site training. check it out. www.nashacademy.com nash approved salons Nash Approved Salons

YorkieTalk Newbie! | Hi I am a hairdresser for 30 years, and I have been looking into becoming a groomer, if for nothing else just to cut my pup and friends. How long did it take you? I live in NJ and there are only 2 schools near me and since I own my salon now I really can't leave for any length of time to learn. Could you tell me if the online course was easily learned and how long it took you? thanks Teri |

when i was there we had a girl that was coming up from the shore a few times a week to attend classes. Classes are from tuesday to saturday but you don't have to go every day. You can pick which days at the beginning of the term you want to attend. you can go only on saturdays if you wanted, but it will take a longer time. i went T-S and finished in 2-3 months, after taking the online courses (you can take 4 a month).

| you definitely will need hands on training at some point from a good groomer who can teach. I got my training not from a school but there was a groomer in my town i lived in at the time that was very good and good at teaching. I never regretted hiring him to teach me. I have been in business 19 years now. |
